Basically a highly gifted kid getting drafted to be a professional soccer player was charged for raping a girl and sentenced to jail. But here's the funny part: None of the evidence went back to the kid and the only evidence they found was from a white kid. Basically there was no evidence that the kid raped the girl and a judge and jury of his peers locked him up. They were all white and he was an African immigrant.

The story in the link is too long to post here. But holy ****, really?

I thought you were talking about Sotomayor

Usually people try to find loopholes in their case to lighten the sentence. This poor guys case has glaring issues , I think he should be exonerated.

I didn't read the entire article but it seems like a lot of it was testimony. What evidence did the state have that he'd done the crime?

This is absolute madness. I really can't believe that people would be so low to do this. It's just absolutely insane that things like this can be allowed, and that someone would try to ruin someone's life with this stuff.

I'm finding it hard to believe that the state presented absolutely NO evidence and he was still convicted... Perhaps I have an excess of trust in the justice system, but it does not seem possible.

Well, you know how those Africans are...raping folks left and right.

He won't get a retrial or exonerated, because 1) he's black and 2) he's a sex offender, and sex offenders are evil, vile creatures who never deserve the benefit of presumed innocence in the U.S. legal system. That's just how our system works. He's not the first guy to face many of these problems, and he certainly won't be the last.

this is completely and utterly ****ed up.....

I hope that when Karma strikes bacck at these racist ****ers.... it strikes back hard.

Howard Johnson is RIGHT!!!

So, the girl doesn't even remember what happened because she was so wasted. They find DNA on her, sperm in other words, and it's an ex-boyfriend who is very jealous? And he wasn't even a suspect?

So, Obama, our lovely president, gets involved with the whole Harvard guy racist thing but he won't get involved with this?

Sounds like that dude needs A MUCH BETTER lawyer because anywhere else in this country that would have been thrown out in two seconds and that jealous ex-boyfriend would have his ass in the shackles and on trial.

Sounds like a very odd conspiracy and I don't even know why. It's just soccer. :oldrazz:

Unless there's free Blue Moon beer involved, Obama apparently has better things to do. After all, acting as a mediator between a squabbling college professor and cop is sooo much more important than pardoning someone who was not given a fair trial. :o

Yeah, I guess so. I just LOVE this country! :whatever:

Frankly the President does have more important things to do than to investigate every trial that could have possibly been a mistrial. Better things than having a drink with two people after he made an ass of himself... Maybe. But he's got better things to do none-the-less.

I agree. Obama should not have gotten involved in that Harvard professor case, and I think he has learned his lesson. It'd be worse if he keeps getting involved in every case where it appears that the suspect was not treated fairly. He should stick to his agendas and not meddle too much in other events.
