Comedy Ready for a live-action Rugrats movie? Too bad, you're getting one anyway.

They basically need to create this world out of cgi, just a smoother version of what we saw before - each character can be amazing to look at, the dad will be great adult humour.. always tired and worn out... but mixing live action, will just look weird.

Dear God, imagine a live action version of this scene:

'AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH' sums up my feelings.

It will be followed a few days later by uncontrollable laughter.

Paramount Moving Ahead on ‘Rugrats’ Movie With ‘Wimpy Kid’ Director

Paramount has hired family film specialist David Bowers as the director of its upcoming live-action/CG “Rugrats” movie. Bowers directed the second, third and fourth “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movies (“Rodrick Rules,” “Dog Days” and “The Long Haul”). He also directed the animated movies “Astro Boy” and “Flushed Away.”

I’m ready for the uproar was this becomes more common knowledge.

live action/CG?

God help your people.

Paramount exec who greenlit this upon being asked if he was outta his damn mind

Maybe the background’s live action while all the characters are CGI? That way they can still keep the visual style of the show I guess...

Or... it could just be CGI babies while everything else is real. If that’s the case then :barf:

any one remember when nickelodeon did grown up rugrats? that was horriable!! tommy had purpler hair!!

No it's the new TV series.

Either way, they look hideous. Kasky-Cupo's human designs were never meant for CGI of any sort. They were already ugly looking. Hell, this is a company who did a middle-school drama cartoon where they for some reason made middle-school girls look facially like senior citizens!

I guess. It was different. I would give anything for all shows not to go for adorable when designing everything now days. As excellent as things were last decade overall.

Their eyes are gonna haunt my nightmares tonight.

I see baby shark is going to get its own show up there.

CG for this is a big miss.

What they should be doing is following All Grown Up’s lead by aging them in real time. The show started with them as babies in 1991. Ten years later, they were middle schoolers. Now? Thirty-somethings.

And don’t soften it up either. Go hard. Dil’s a drug addict. Angelica works at Fox News and becomes a rising star by vilifying Congresswoman Susie Carmichael. Phil and Lil realize they’ve both been sleeping with the same guy. Chuckie’s a psychopath. Dare I go on??
