Red Faction: Armageddon

Anyone else play the demo on Live? I really liked the last game, both online and off was pretty solid IMHO. I don't hold much ties to the original FPS Red Faction games so I didn't have much to complain about.

Anyway, I really liked the demo. Very fun, IMHO.

I've been playing Red Faction: Guerrilla a lot lately. I don't play shooters so naturally I am terrible. Is Armageddon better? I'm thinking about getting it.

I haven't played it personally, but by all accounts it's much more "shootery" than Guerilla. And also kind of bad.

Hmm don't really know if that's a good thing or not. I don't have any experience at all with shooters.

It's not a bad game, it's just a 3rd person shooter. It's fun for a while, the best part of the game is the destruction elements. Which I think is the best in any game even Battlefield

I think it's a step back compared to the previous one. Guerrilla was one of the most fun sandbox games ever made which made perfect use of their unmatched destruction engine. This one is just a repetitive shooter in mostly underground corridors (Though some of the new weapons like rebuilding tool are fun).

Unfortunately the game didn't do very well and the franchise is now ending according to THQ.

It's indeed really sad how THQ has ended the franchise. They also released Armageddon in a really bad / crowded month (Most games from that timeframe including EA's Shadows of the Damned AND Alice Madness returns bombed).
