Remember the old Surfer casting rumors.

The same UTube user has the "Doomsday" episode of the 1990's FF cartoon series, where Dr. Doom steals the Silver Surfer's powers.

And here's a 1975 Mego action figures tv commercial, which features the upcoming FF figures. ("Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl...Both with the power of invisibility!"??? )

Wow. Just wow. That commercial is just...ummm...wow. I think like part of my brain died watching it.

"Falcon that great black super hero"

=))=))=))

That does about sum him up

Green Arrow: A forest?

They so just looked at those toys and guessed from there

They should have just gave everyone the power of invisibility.

Braincells have been lost with that one.

Well, I've got brain cells now begging for mercy and whimpering in fear. The people who made that commercial should be forced to watch it over and over again for the rest of their natural lives.

Not griping about this thread AT ALL. But it seems that even though some have said on here that the F4 will still be the focus of this movie. It seems that the focus of this forum has pulled away from the 4 themselves and to the Silver Surfer. Look at the amount of threads solely for him, yet he has a character thread. Just an observation, again, not griping about the thread AD, the commercial thing was funny as heck.

That is something that I'm afraid will reflect in the movie as well. I hope I'm wrong, and if I am, once the movie is out, I'll be the first to admit it with happiness.

That's because the Silver Surfer is such a cool character that we as fans are focusing on him. You haven't seen the script yet but we've already seen some of Doom but Surfer has alot more alure and is more awe inspiring as you can imagine how he'll look on film.

Besides, who can resist a guy wearing almost nothing but silver paint?:wow::woot:

Hey as I said, thats cool. As long as the script doesn't follow the awe so much that it takes away from who and what the movie is about.

Well Fantastic Four still remains the main title to the film. However without a great villain you'll wind up with a mediocre hero story. So the villains need to stand out. It sounds like that's the case with the return of the Doom we've been waiting for and the rise of SS.

I'm not worried about that at all (yet).
So far it looks like the FF are front and center for everything.
We've got Reed and Sue getting married (or trying to), a girlfriend for Johnny, and more scenes between Ben and Alicia.
I doubt we'll see many scenes involving the Surfer that don't feature the FF as well. Maybe a montage of the Surfer making appearances in various places around the globe, but those will be brief, I'm sure.
It sounds like the movie will focus on the FF trying to deal with the Surfer and understand him.
No question the Surfer's gonna steal the show, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

I think the coolness factor will definitely be there for the SS, just like it was for Johnny. I didn't think Johnny was written, acted, or cgi'd any better than the others, but the fact that Johnny is very cool on his own merit, and flies etc. The coolness factor was up. I think the same will be said for the SS.

The Mego commercial was the best thing I've seen in years. Now I know where Twisted ToyFare Theatre got its inspiration. I'd love to see a Marvel movie in stop animation using Megos.
