Just came back from this, 7/10 for me.

It was definitely funny & very entertaining, and the two Nics were the standouts and delivered exactly what was expected. As Jeremy Jahns mentioned, the movie was at its strongest when they were on screen, which was roughly half of the movie. Cage in particular chewed up so much scenery it was awesome, and he delivered a Dracula for the ages.

As entertaining as it was overall though, I just felt something was missing from this that could've elevated it more. It felt almost formulaic, and could've been edgier. But still a very worthy trip to the theater to see Nic and Nic.

The only thing I was disappointed about was not getting to see the trailer for The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Maybe I might have to catch Renfield again at a different theater to see it... (this viewing was at an Alamo Drafthouse, so I might try to catch it at an AMC next)

This was enjoyable. Definitely missing a little something, but it did have a nice emotional core. Thought all the performances were really good, and charming.

Cage is the only good thing about this movie. It honestly felt like two different movies were smashed together in a Frankenstein-esque failed experiment. Awkwafina isn't believable as a cop but worst of all, is the violence being graphic yet cartoonish to the point that no one ever gets blood on them despite their limbs being ripped off.

Sucks to hear the film had a poor opening. Saw it yesterday and I enjoyed it. Movie has a lot of funny moments and Nic Cage stole every scene he was in

Enjoyed it overall but seemed a bit rushed, feels like they cut a lot of stuff. Agreed on it not doing better in the box office, want to continue to see horror comedies out and about.

Still hoping to catch this in theaters but Finals are making it hard.

Bummer about the underperformance. I really don't get why this was released now instead of in the Fall. Horror films can certainly succeed at other points in the year, but this one really feels like it would have benefited from a Fall release.

I enjoyed this, more in the second half when the movie seemed to settle out a bit and and have less goofy set pieces. The first half was fun but I got Schumacher Batman vibes from parts of it, like Dracula’s lair and all the stuff with the over-the-top silly gangsters. Still, I enjoyed the movie overall and Cage and Hoult were especially terrific. On that note, Hoult is great in pretty much everything, even though people here like to **** on him because he dared to audition for Batman or whatever.

One thing that surprised me was how BRUTAL and gruesome the violence was. I’m not complaining; I had a blast with that but I wasn’t expecting it. I think it traumatized the friend I saw it with, haha.

The welcome mat joke was the best thing in the whole movie. That slayed me.

I liked the movie, but I have to agree with the people here saying something was missing. It kind of feels like the movie doesn't really know what it wants to be.

Maybe too much action, not enough horror and Cage? It feels a bit "safe," classic good versus evil in the end. Perhaps it would've been better if we saw more of Dracula and Renfield working together before he wanted to stop. (Imo)

I also liked the gore, but I'm not a fan of those quick cuts during the fight scenes. I thought we stopped doing that...

This was pretty solid overall, but I honestly think it would have been an even better film had they focused more on Nic Cage and Nicholas Hoult's relationship, especially since its the best part of the movie.

I didn't mind the gangster/Awkwafina stuff, but most of us are going into this for Dracula and Reinfeld and I felt like the movie didn't focus enough on their characters and instead had too much going on at times.

The gory, carnage was a lot of fun though.
