Seems to me no-one makes films bordering between average/good and average/bad like Harlin. He's one of those moderately successful, stylistically anonymous action hacks alongside Jan De Bont and Martin Campbell

Average/good:
Cliffhanger (atleast his most popular, I hate it)
Die Hard 2 (worst of the series however)
The Long Kiss Goodnight (his best)

Average/bad:
Nightmare on Elm St 4
Cuttthroat Island
Deep Blue Sea
Driven
Exorcist: The Beginning

He has an interesting visual-style, but most of his movies are crap!

Renny Harlin.

I've only seen Mindhunters, Die Hard 2 and Deep Blue Sea.

Mindhunters: Okay
Die Hard 2: Okay
Deep Blue Sea: Okay? (I can't remember, other than the fact it entertained me)

He is box office posion. Allof his latest movies have bombed or been disappointments. Mindhunters wasn't given a chance though. It was dumped. :cmad: damn you Dimension! Always dumping movies, cutting them to hell, or delaying them for years if it isn't QT or RW.

Cliffhanger was .. imo .. a decent movie spoiled by some of the acting from the 'bad' guys.

Deep Blue Sea was very entertaining ............... but the rest average at best.

'Nightmare on Elm Street 4' is my favorite of the series. It might have been kinda of goofy, not scary at all, and over advertised (it was promoted so much to the point they had Freddy rapping on MTV, and it was promoted on the Golden Girls, and Roseanne) but it was the most fun, and it had the best special effects.

'Deep Blue Sea' made my dad almost flip the couch completely over when [blackout]Sam Jackson was tore into 2 halves by the shark[/blackout].

I laughed until the film was over if I remember. But probably Renny's best as well!

He sucks, pure and simple, his idea of character development is a money shot :(

P.S. I love action movies, Bad Boys 2 and Die Hard movies are some of my favorite movies :(
