Hell yes! Well theyre doing it with the hulk with a much better cast and crew. If that film proves to be successful then studios will defintely consider it

Director : A cross between The Wachowski Bros , Chris Columbus and David Fincher

Writer: Jeph Loeb, Kevin Smith & Brian Michael Bendis with a polish by AlvinSargent

Cast: Guy Pearce ( DD/Matt Murdock) Catherine Zeta Jones ( Elektra) Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Foggy Nelson) Crispin Glover ( Bullseye) Collin Chou (Stick)

I have no idea who can pull off the kingpin personally with size and substance Maybe Michael Clarke Duncan again?

Catherine Zeta Jones is too old to be Elektra.

You can't keep rebooting every 5-10 years... like Hulk and Batman... it will run dry eventually... but Dare Devil is something that is revampable... but not for a while... wait till Marvel gets it back... then aim for a 2012-2016 release... anywhere between there would be good... and it has to be a follow up... don't re do the origin... even if they get a White King Pin... have him start the movie in jail and don't discredit the events of the original...

Marvel are just going to leave Daredevil as it is. They have more succesful and recognised franchises to concentrate on at present.

i'd say revamp/sequalize another one. like what the Hulk's doing.

I wouldn't want Chris Columbus directing a Daredevil film.

Exactly.. I cringe when people say "The Hulk is being revamped"... No, that's what people call it, but it's not.. It's like a revamp, but it's a sequel too.. New villians, and such, and a continuation of the first film. But still, revamping the characterization.. It's hard to explain.

Don't know who would direct it, or even act in it, but here are my ideas to revamp Darevil back to what he is in the comics.

Daredevil's back story:
Father is still a boxer who stresses Matt's education.
Matt becomes lind like toxic waste (only this time Matt meets this man named Stick who teaches him how to survive without his site in the city)
Father dies when he doesn't throw a fight.
(not sure of the time period, does stick teach him before his father dies? Does he teach him after?)

Make Matt's DD costume more like a ninja costume instead of padded leather. Make it more fabric with some padding but not much.
Along with Matt's costume Matt is much more Ninja oriented than in the previous movie.
Out of costume he should look more like the comic. Natural red hair, uncombed with big black sunglasses.

Matt is sort of a jerk at times, like in the comics.
I would change how he interacted with the criminals and bad guys, make it more like the recent comics where he doesn't just attack them.
Also show that DD isn't above doing anything underhanded in order to stop criminals, killing isn't his only goal although. He almost sees himself on their level.

I would also make Kingpin more heavy in apearence, move and act more smoothly. Like he is the richest man in the world, sort of snobby.

The DD movie would introduce those two characters, and no one else besides supporting characters like Foggy and Caren (spelling?)
Save Bullseye for the sequal or use him only slightly, not alot of fucus.
The 1st movie is all about DD's intro and the Kingpin's intro.
It ends with Daredevil having revealed that he is the self appointed protector of the city and he will stop at nothing to bring Kingpin down.
But Kingpin isn't even really touched in this movie.
The sequal is where things start heating up between the two. with the introduction of Bullseye, maybe even Elektra but I would hesitate in bringing her in too soon.

Bullseye: He is a killer with a smile. He is almost remorsless. He should have a costume but it should be more like gear. Similar to DD's costume in the 1st movie and more like SWAT battle armor.

Elektra looks more like her comic character, and she acts like it too. She is another assassin hired by Kingpin to take down Daredevil. She is ruthless and a killer but her and DD sort of fall in love. She and Bullseye are in competition for the spot of Kingpin's assassin and Bullseye kills her for it or something.
She also dresses more like a ninja too.

In terms of action I would make it more realistic like Batman Beggins. Not alot of sky high death defying and unrealistic moves like in the 1st DD movie.

These are just a few changes I would have made to the DD movie, or how i would revamps the character for the movies.

Director: David Fincher

Matt Murdock - Ethan Hawke

Elektra - Monica Bellucci

Bullseye - Jason Statham

Kingpin - Big Show (WWE)

I really wish this guy could act. Eric Esch. (I refuse to use his stage/wrestler/boxer name as it tends to destroy any credibility he may have as a professional... anything)

He has the size, the look and the shear, brute, TRUE physical power of Kingpin. Now if we can just create a machine that will let a great actor temporarily transfer his acting skills to this man...

It needs a sequill not a revamp. If you have seen the DD DC that is the version that should get a sequill. It is what we should have got the first time.

DD sequel is a better idea. The first movie already established him, and was fine enough. Let's move to better stories like Born Again

Great cast! Pearce was who I wanted first time around! Glover would rule as Bullseye! Just don't let MSJ NEAR this thing! DC or not, the guy's a hack! BTW When does Marvel get the rights back? Shouldn't be long. I think 3 years is tops. When was Elektra?

DD DC makes me so pissed at MARVEL for making the other movie public. Don't get me wrong I liked the other movie up until people started saying it sucked and that it was a Spider-Man knock-off. Mind you all the while, I never read a DD comic so that was my first exposure to him.

But I revamped DD movie would be great, I think they shouldn't do a compete sequal. I think they should do a DD 1.5

Hehe, ya I could see him as Kingpin. Not sure of his acting abilities, but he could pull it off. I haven't seen him as of late, but know hes doin the Mixed Martial Arts stuff(think he even has a winning record 10-3-1)..So he might even be trimed down some(strike that just looked it up,hes still pushing 350lbs)
I agree this needs the Hulk treatment not a complete revamp just some lovin'.

I'm going to post my question here since I couldn't find the other DD2 thread, but does anyone know when exactly are the rights of DD supposed to be back at marvel? I thought they were suposed to be returned this year in '07.

Couldn't they just do it they way they beef up Robbie Coltrane for the Harry Potter films? Hagrid looks pretty formidable in them.

i think that DD DC would be the one to deserve the sequel as well. cuz it's a great movie. has an interesing story. should've been the way it was originally released.

I say don't have Elektra in it, I doubt the studios would make it too similar to the previous one, and the isolation elements in DD were ruined a little by elektra, although her getting killed was a plus.

Dont fret I think any Athlete can be great actor Wait! hear me out before you guys start Throwing movies like Kazaam, Space jam and Steel at me. Take a look at Vinne Jones. Dude was a soccer player and he has an incredible presence and range as an actor just watch Snatch. Also Ray Allen in He Got Game he is fantastic in it and he's acting alongside Denzel Washington by the way. Also in the 25th Hour theres a big guy I forget his name but he was a football player in his country and he was great in the movie. Spike Lee said it the best: "Athletes can do anything once theyre coached right" Im sure a great director can provoke a great performance out of someone who looks the physically like Kingpin
