I hate the taste of beer - of most alcohol, basically. My thought it: "It tastes yucky and makes me sick". Seems a good enough reason for me to avoid it.

I LOVE rootbeer. It's my favourite drink - but only A&W will do. Barq's has a nasty minty taste and Dad's Old Fashioned has a dry, dusty aftertaste that I'm not fond of.

Hilariously, Root beer is nearly an exclusively North American drink. I asked for rootbeer at a bar in Ireland and flabbergasted the bartender. "What's this? Beer from a tree?"
