Rosie O'Donnell is a racist idiot

I don't see anything wrong with what she said...have you ever seen a TV news broadcast from China? That's exactly what it sounds like.

Years ago Phil Hartman would do this bit where he'd act out a German commercial even though he didn't speak German... I don't see any reason why Germans would get angry at that.

it's completely stupid to get offended over this.

Conan speaks German on a weekly basis. If people were offended he would've stopped a long time ago.

Colbert as Ching-Chong Ding-Dong

Do you know how Chinese people name their kids? They throw silverware in the air. :)
:wow: ... ... damn, i still laughed.

Do you know how black parents get their kids to stop jumping on the bed?

damn everyone is racist now...might as well get it out of the way in case i become famous one day... I AM A RACIST!!!

my favorite one has always been:

Whats black, yellow, and screams?

I think the problem isn't as much what she said but that she said it right on the heels of getting all offended over perceived homophobia.

And that she's Rosie O'Donnel.

I'm not a racist. I'm just an alcoholic.

She's a hypocrite. Not a racist.

That's what it is. It's that she is a hypocrite. If you are going to freak out about made up offenses, then you sure as hell can't go around making real ones.

Rosie issued a public apology on today's The View.

"This apparently was very offensive to a lot of Asian people. So I asked Judy, who's Asian and works here in our hair and makeup department. I said, 'Was it offensive to you?' And she said, 'Well, kinda. When I was a kid people did tease me by saying ching-chong.' So apparently 'ching-chong,' unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote-unquote, or mock, Asian accents. Some people have told me it's as bad as the n-word. I was like, really? I didn't know that … (I) never intended to hurt anyone, and I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt or were teased on the playground.”

People don't accept apologies these days. Look at poor Kramer, still branded a racist.

That's not an apology.

She didnt' say I'm sorry for what I said, she said I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt. Not the same thing.

Not that I care just calling it like I see it.

What do you want her to do, lick ass for a comment that really wasn't very offensive in the first place? If I made a comment I thought was fine, but people in the room were offended, I'd aplogise in the same way. "Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings".

People acted like jerks about Kramer's apology too. "He's not saying sorry enough!", "he doesn't seem sincere!".

What the hell do people want? My personal opinion is that the problem is peoples' attitudes, not so much the celebrities saying this stuff. Nobody seems to know what REAL racism is.

I'm just arguing semantics. I honestly don't care what she says, I've said worse.

"Yeah I'm sorry your feelings got hurt." is not an apology, end of story.

Dude, youre weird.

Erzengel is right, although I don't think she needed to apologize.

and now the phrase "ching-chong" will be banned from the Hype. :cmad::up:
