Samaritan: MGM acquires Sylvester Stallone’s superhero drama

Maybe it’s just the way the trailer is cut but it looks like a superhero movie for people who watch Fox News 24/7. The shots of riots at the beginning made me think of the right wing lie that BLM protestors were “burning cities to the ground in 2020” and then we have a scene of mostly Black kids beating up on a white kid and the heroic old white man comes to his aid. I don’t want to say the movie is racist based on a trailer but that all just rubs me the wrong way.

I saw the movie. You're wrong.
Then again, if you want to see racism everywhere that's on you.

I found the movie to be average at best.

I may have been wrong about this movie. But in the current political climate, can you blame anyone for being wary of something that might be racist? Or are you one of those people who has more of a problem with people calling out racism than racism itself?

I don't have a problem with people calling out racism when it is warranted and true.
In the case of this movie, it is not true.
