Samsung to join PlayStation Now next year?

Bit of old wording in the title lol. Makes it sound like Samsung will be available on PS Now, not the other way around.

Yeahh I was thinking that when making the thread. But it really is Samsung joining PSNow, since they're deciding to support the service.

And, you meant to say odd, not old wording, right?

The only way I see PlayStation Now working is if they transform it into a Netflix like service instead of the rental service they currently have. Moving onto other TV brands is a step in the right direction to expand the service, but without fixing the core problem, it just isn't going to take off.

couldn't you have just put this into the existing Now thread. We already knew it was extending to Smart TVs so this isn't exactly big news

That would be so sweet! Sony should do this with PSNow.

Yeah, a subscription thing would make PS Now great, as long as it was reasonable

Yeah, I call it the zenith effect.

sure. we can have a mod merge it. but i don't think making a new thread was such a big deal either. it was big news to me.

The Hype is pretty much a dead forum, so there's not a lot of need to create separate threads for every little bit of news like there is, at say, NeoGAF, which has an active community that is, if anything, so hyperactive that sometimes multiple threads are needed to keep up. Honestly, if it it weren't for zenith's need to post news even to threads that no one posts in or follows or cares about, we would probably only have about 4-5 active threads per board here.

The Hype's games forum is relatively dead yes. Neogaf is a games dedicated forum though. I imagine their superhero section is a bit less active than the Hype's. ;)

They don't have a superhero section, it's just gaming and then general discussion. But the games forum isn't the only thing dead here; the comic section is a ghost land, and even the movie section is a lot more barren than it used to be. I don't know about community and dedicated movie/tv sections, though. I never did much in community, and the dedicated boards are for nothing but the maddest of fools.

I've been pretty much posting all day today in different threads with varying activity. The individual hero threads have gone a bit quieter since they split it up into 300 forums but there's overall a lot of people active. For eg the 'All things Superman & Batman' thread is onto Part 117 for a film that's ages out and for which all we've had is a few stills.

I was joking anyway about neogaf. Wouldn't expect them to have a superhero section. :woot: I post pretty much all over the Hype and I've never found it to be quiet, although maybe that's just because I move onto a new section every few minutes. If I was here for just games or just Misc Films I would have been forced to join a new forum.

Yeah, like I said, I don't go into dedicated superhero movie/tv forums. I find it mostly populated by the absolute worst and most disgusting users of the Hype. Maybe it's changed, though. But yeah, game boards, comic boards, lesser degree the general movie forums are pretty dead. They're pretty much just the same people posting in an endless circle.

I remember just a few years ago, the Hype was super active. It just seems like ghost town in comparison really.

I kind of prefer it like this. I hate boards that move too fast to keep up with. I feel like I have a general sense of who the core group I post with are as opposed to dozens or hundreds of random people

I'm kind of in-between. With NeoGAF, for instance, it moves way too fast. There are times when you post in a thread, and it's already on a separate page. But this is a bit too slow for me at times. It just sort of gets old to see the same people same the same thing over and over again. Having more people help kind of buffer that so it doesn't become so repetitive. I'd say a forum of a good 50-70 active users would probably be preferable for me, not 10-12 like we have here.

Cant say IDA with you. Guess Im more in between as well

Haha, it probably is the most disgusting posters of the Hype. I guess I'm used to it as I'm forced into it as that's what I want to talk about. For me the game forums along with one or 2 others would be better with more contributors, but not so many that the discussion has totally finished and moved on every time you check in. Even an extra 10 regulars would make a massive, and I think positive, difference. (well assuming they weren't disgusting users lol)

Yeah I've been to neogaf. Every minute there's posts in threads. It's madness.
