It's fairly obvious now while Sara may show up again on show the producers
refuse to back away from Laurel as "female Lead" and plan to push her as Canary.

Thinking out loud here, what if The League were to cripple rather than kill Laurel and she becomes Oracle in a revised BOP line up with Sara as Canary & a reformed Huntress???

Yeah, but isn't that kind of a sliding scale? I mean, how bad was the other Ruby?

Comparing CL and KC, it's seems clear to me that neither of them are going to be winning oscars any time soon, but CL comes off as more genuine and KC more fake and a bit plastic.

For me, it's probably going to come down to the butt-kicking. Can KC match or surpass CL in the fight scenes? If the answer is no, then that's just going to kill the whole thing for me.

100% agree, took the words right out of my mouth. That's how I'd describe those two. Black Canary comes across as a cool chick to hang around with in the comics - with CL you really get that feeling, with KL absolutely not.

To make things worse it doesn't help Cassidy that she looks truly amateurish with that baton and given that this is supposed to be Black Canary this is woeful. Caity Lotz on the other hand really makes these fight choreographies work extremely well. Of course Laurel's not supposed to be the naturally skilled fighter, while Sara has a LOA-background, nevertheless I think that Cassidy just can't pull if off any better, she seems too limited performance-wise in several aspects to pull this role off in a convincing manner.

Caity Lotz by far for me. She has that natural charisma that won me over from the first moment I saw. Even though they went ahead and made her almost overdramatic as Oliver(one of the reason why I like LoT is that they let her have fun over there) she still had that warmth and fun about her. And she clicked with the rest of the cast fantastically.

Not to mention her physical presence is superb

I agree with this and have actually used this in a discussions/arguments of why Sara works over Laurel with the points you've made.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if that's what they did.Laurel dies as BC,then Sara comes back to Starling to take her place.


I've said it before and I'll say it again.It's all the producers fault for giving us a perfect "first" BC and it backfired on them big time.

Now we'll always compare Laurel with how great Sara was.

Looks like that's what happened of Laurel ended up dying. Just no Sara coming back since she's over on Legends. Though considering Arrow's current state that's probably a good thing.
