I'm moving into my own place soon. The apartment complex offers both Dish Network and DirecTV.

The plus of Dish -- ESPN 1 and 2 HD, NFL Network HD.
Plus of DirecTV -- More channels.

I'd like to hear opinions of various satellite owners, just to scout both brands.

:trans:

Vote in the poll and discuss!

Everyone post pictures of Batman smiling!

Okay, DirecTV costs more. Dish offers more HD programming.

I don't know which one to choose!

I've got Dish network with America's top 180. I'm happy with it so far.

How much do you pay a month roughly, Kritish?

How is the interference level?

Cable. Anything else is **** compared to it. And I've tried them all.

...yeah, so....

Peyton says go with DirecTV on 2.

$40 per month, rates are different in different areas though. Go to their sites to find out more. But, they do have great porn on Dish. ;)

His commercials almost make me want to get DirecTV. ALMOST.

I really can't afford to watch all the porn they offer. Seriously. :o:csad:

digital cable with all the "on demand" channels is the best stuff on earth.

But what I'm saying is, it would cost a ton to put cable into my apartment.

cable company will fleece you..stay away from cable....

i got dish i like it...best for the money...

only thing directv has better is the nfl package..if you cant afford it or can live without it than go dish... also the tivo feature on directv is a tad better on directv..but i had dish for 3 yrs now and the DVR/HD is great for me

I can live with my local HD networks and NFL Network HD for football. I don't need the Total Package.

The HD Receiver is what I'll get, since it has an HDMI input :)

Direct TV.
more choices and stuff.
dish network is always in trouble with one channel or another anyway.

It actually looks like although it is more expensive, DirecTV seems to be the one to go with.

Yeah, I've been having troubles with Dish Network as of late. My receiver's been randomly changing channels on me, setting up timers, etc... on me. And I've tried getting new receivers, new remotes, etc...

I just might go to DirecTV if this problem doesn't cease.

So yeah, DirecTV is the choice so far.

I would get Dish, but I've heard too many bad things about it.

if you have A.D.D. get Dish

directv menus and channel switching... are running at 56k

there i said something bad about directv:oldrazz:

Listen to this guy. Plus, if you are interested in some of the sports packages they offer, NFL Sunday Ticket owns all.

What do you mean "are running at 56k"

slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow as molasses( i wanted to use a curse word here)

i had BOTH directv and Dish in the same house at the same time..dont ask why its a long story..

when i wanted to access the tivo and menus and switch channels

dish is way faster

its major LAG to react on directv. but like i said only if you have A.D.D which i do...do you mind
