Script Review for 'Joe' SPOILERS!!!

I dunno man...the mere MENTION of Jar-Jar Binks in this script review has really got me down :(

For fack sakes man...that scene described with Ripcord where he puts the accelerator suit on and wobbles around going 'Woooaaahhh', then getting hit by a car and going 'scuuuuse moi' sounds really bad.

Just read it and the whole thing sounds bad not just one part :csad:

Yo Joe! The script review definitely sounds very cool indeed. I love how the...Accelerator suits have built in weapons, grappling hooks etc. They remind me of the book, C.A.D.S. written by John Sievert.

This movie is going to be as bad as Stealth.

Okay...I do agree the Accelerator suits having built in grappling hooks and weapons is pretty awesome...but something tells me the first like...15 minutes (and that's pushin' it!) is going to be awesome and the rest of the movie is just go turn out to be a giant deflated horse dong....DAMMIT why did Sommers have to get this movie?!?

You know how some directors/actors go into regular screenings with their collar up and had down just to 'see what the audience reacting is'? ...well I dont know what this putz looks like but I bet you any money if he did end up doing that and someone DID recognize him....it'd be curtains for that clown....or if he ever has the balls to show up at a G.I. Joe Convention someone will most definately punch him in the nose and piss on his shoes...angry Joe fan mobs....hmmm....I mean having fans based off of a military type action property? For sure there are some crazy military nuts out there who will strap some C4 to that dudes Hummer if this movie doesn't turn out!

Hello, I have a couple of questions about this film.

1. Is this film base on the Marvel comic books or the cartoon?

2.If the answer to 1. is the comic book. Then will we see SGT. Slaughter and Rocky Balboa as G.I. Joes in future G.I. Joe movies?

In 1987, a book tittle G.I. Joe : Order of Battle was published stated that Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa character was a G.I. Joe in issue 2, but by issue 3 and 4 of the series the character was stated that Rocky was never a member of G.I Joe. So what should we believe?

3. Does The G.I Joe movie takes place in the same universe as Micheal Bay's Tranformers? If so, is there any way we can have an appearence of some of the G.l. Joe characters in future Transformer's movies?

4.I saw on Wikipedia that Brendan Fraser will have a cameo appearance in the film. Fraser will play a descendant of Rick O' Donnell from The Mummy. This will link the two movies together, that were directed by Stephan Summers. Is this true?

5. Does this mean that the G.I. Joe, Tranformers, and The Mummy Universes will all be merge into one?

Wow this looks terrible on paper.

For me, a guy who was hoping for a realistic adaptation that could end up delving into serious political and social issues about the nature of humanity and war and terrorism and modern politics while still being an entertaining action movie, this is mega, uber, spectacular fail.

Hell, even just being a more accurate reproduction of the Joes from the comics and toyline without all the subtext it's still ****ing fail.

I want GI Joe, not Robo-Joe. Besides that, the suits look ****ing stupid, and there's no chance in hell we'll have them in 20 years...the military doesn't even have the tech they were harping on ten years ago (look up land warrior program if you wanna know what I'm referring to). The F22 Raptor, for instance, was supposed to be in service 10 years ago, IIRC. They just got 2 squadrons up 2 years ago. And that's just an airplane. Not a mecha infantry suit.

This could be kinda cool as a standalone piece but this is not GI Joe, which is what I expected given the title of the God damned movie.

I agree. I think the idea of giving each Joe a super-powered tech suit that makes them superhuman is a really lame idea. What happens to each Joe's specialized skills and profession? Now it's just the suit and its arsenal of gadgets. Seriously, the suits could've been given to marines or other elite troop and it won't make any difference. I thought GI JOE is supposed to be a group of soldiers with exceptional talents, not exceptional suits? Anyway, I never really like Sommer's movies, and this will probably not be an exception.

1. It's based more on the toy line than comics or show. Most will be original stuff though, even though they did hire larry Hama the fater of the Gi:Joe comics.
2.SGT. Slaughter is owned by the WWE and can't be used and Rocky Balboa is owned also by another company, and from my understaind Hasbro said that name was a mistake and was never supposed to be seen in print. So no.

3. I don't see why they couldn't be in the same universe. Same toy company, same producer, same movie studio. I highly doubt it would happen though.
4. Yeah he's in the movie, he most likely isn't Rick from the mummy as Universal owns the rights to that character not Paramount.
5. No, that can't happen. If theres many more GI:joe and transformers maybe it could. The mummy could not as another company owns those characters.

The robosuits are in one scene, and the Joes still have their specialties.

Exactly what you'd think. Robotic suits to give the joes superhuman strength and speed.

I don't see why people are so negative about the RoboSuits. Their pretty cool, and they totally fit in the G.I. Joe world. Plus it'll make a great action scene. And I'm pretty sure they only use them in one scene.

Marlon Wayans should be ashamed of himself.....saying he's a huge fan and then getting into this film....if he was a fan, he should know that he doesn't fit in this film or in GI JOE AT ALL....

So much of whats happening with this movie is exactly the same stuff that happened with Transformers, so as of now I'm expecting we'll get what we got with that movie which is mindless fun that you can't take to seriously.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet, but the link above talks about the "doctor" not having vocal cords. Does that mean Cobra Commander won't have his signature voice?
