My current computer (Windows XP) seems to have a problem. When it boots up, my taskbar and desktop icons disappear completely and dont come back. Ontop of that it seems to come up with a window that says:

"Found new hardware- SCSI/Raid Host Controller"

When i click cancel, nothing happens. I did manage to click firefox to seek help online before it locked down on me. Ive already tried system restore. Can anyone help me on this?

Do you have a SCSI card or contoller or Raid array? If not , the missing controller shouldnt be a problem. Any recent Windows updates installed or new/updated motherboard chipsets?
Try running a HijackThis scan ,.If the problem persits respond here and Ill see what I can find out for you.

I was actually going to say the same thing.
Many of the newer boards support RAID 0 or 1...and some may have SCSI controllers...
