Any of you see this yet?

http://www.tvline.com/2011/01/blind-item-dead-drama-showing-a-pulse/

Here’s some news that’ll excite a buncha you… and then frustrate that same bunch, because — sorry! —it comes in the form of a Blind Item: A hit drama series whose final season was announced in the last 12 months may not be ending after all! Know which one yet? I’ll give you some clues…

Though the network told the world that the plug had been pulled, apparently not everyone involved in the show was in agreement about that. In fact, to this day, talks are ongoing behind scenes to extend its run, one way (in its current form) or another (in a tweaked form or even as a series of TV movies).

Sound like something’s rotten in the state of Denmark? Yeah, I’m with ya there.

Another big clue: No, it is not Tru Calling. That was axed ages ago. Let it go!

Many have suggested SV, and a case could be made for a bunch other shows. Now look at this, under dead & buried:

Life Unexpected (The CW)
Lone Star (Fox)
The Good Guys (Fox)
Medium (CBS)
My Generation (ABC)
Running Wilde (Fox)
Smallville (The CW; ‘cuz its the last season – unless, maybe, TVline knows something we don’t)
The Whole Truth (ABC)

So do you think Smallville's it? Could Dawn Ostroff leaving have something to do with this?

Hope it's not Smallville. I don't want it to pull another 7th Heaven at the last minute.

Yeah, I saw this on CBM yesterday along with that news that Doomsday might be returning, but I just assumed it was fake since they pretty much said it was going to be Smallville without any consideration of other shows.

But who knows now. If there's going to be a spin-off, I don't see it with Tom aside from maybe a cameo. If there were one, I would probably have to be a Green Arrow series. But I remember Brian and Kelly saying they had no plans for a spin-off and that they were going to work on something else, so I wonder who would be behind it.

But this isn't about a spin-off, SV wouldn't be ending at all if this is truly the case.

TV Movies would be nice so long as they looked better than your average episode of the show. Plus he would have to be in the Superman suit and I have a feeling that Warner Bros would not be happy about that with them trying to push a Movie through the pipeline aswell.

I saw this story the other day. As cool as it would be for sv to continue I doubt its sv. The cast/producdrs/network all agreed for it to be end and all signs have been going there. It is probably for some other show. Which I can't think of right now.

If it's not Smallville why did EW bother to put that in the brackets just for Smallville?

Things change all the time, whatever it's been said in the past it can be erased in a space of a second today.

Ya things can change. Bit all current things we know about cast and crew is they are gearing to end the show. Plus with the upcoming movie going in production. When sv will be ending series/season I just don't think it will be it. They probably only added that stuff to sv cause it in final season. Plus the article said that the show in question had plug pulled from it. Which is not what happened with sv. They choose to offically make tenth the end.

We don't know the current things, because nobody has said anything currently. We know what was said 2/3 months ago.

Plug being pulled meaning it's gearing towards the end, as in this is it, not that it's currently dead or that it's been cancelled.

It's also Medium's final season, yet nothing was added beside it.

Now that I read more about it, it looks like Heroes.

You mean if they actually had a budget to work with this time. :o

I don't have a link or anything, but I remember reading an article with the producers from earlier this season, and they hinted at the possibility of something like this happening.

Well if I recall they said then maybe more could be done but they want it to end this yr. We will have to see what show this is all about. I still think its probably another show. Wouldn't be mad if it was sv. But this season is a good place to end.

At 1st I thought Heroes was a major possibility, but I'm not sure how much it fits now.

It's the EW article that gives Smallville the edge, they must be on to something there linking to the original article, otherwise, all drama shows that had their final season announced in the past 12 months could've been it.

Yea heroes would be a logical choice since mini series/tv movies been said. Heck maybe even 24 since recently fox nixed featured film. So maybe a tv movie would be more in there mind. Hopefully we will get it cldared up soon. Or heck one of these places get ahold of kelly/brian and try to clear things up.

It could be Medium or Friday Night Lights. I think EW mentioning Smallville is just a guess. They could be wrong too.

Really? Because I remember reading that they knew the next project that they wanted to work on and it wasn't anything SV or super-hero related.

They did also said a few months ago they were working on some drama show for cbs.

That doesn't stop them from guessing on other shows.

Fact is, they've only done it for Smallville, and that should be seen as a major hint.

Hope it's not Smallville. They already showed the suit, we got Darkseid as the main villain, they brought many of the old cast, why would there be another season? Ok, strong ratings. I get that. But it would be kinda wrong if the CW wants to do another when they have been promoting everything about S10 as being the last.

So you wouldn't want a full on Superman show? Or a Metropolis series? Because that's what we're talking about here.

I don't think they could do a live action Superman show very well. That kind of thing needs to be reserved for the movies IMO. Either way, I think season 10 is it for me.
