Seth Rogen has signed on to star in the comedy Observe and Report for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, says Variety.

The movie, which will be directed by Jody Hill, begins shooting in April, marking Rogen's next project after he wraps Kevin Smith's Zack & Miri Make a Porno for The Weinstein Company.

Observe and Report centers on Ronnie Barnhardt, a deluded, self-important head of mall security who squares off in a turf war against the local cops. Hill wrote the screenplay.

Donald De Line is producing; Andrew Haas and Marty Ewing executive produce.

Columbia Pictures also has Kevin James-starrer Mall Cop (tentative title) in pre-production, but that is expected to be more family-friendly.

"It will definitely go to the edge," De Line said about "Observe". "We love (Hill's) sensibility."

Something about this does not sit well with me. It could end up being very bad

Faris, Pena and Liotta to Observe and Report

Anna Faris, Michael Pena and Ray Liotta will star opposite Seth Rogen in Observe and Report, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Jody Hill, who wrote the script, is directing while Donald De Line is producing the Warner Bros./ Legendary Pictures comedy, which also sees Jesse Plemons ("Friday Night Lights") joining the cast as well.

"Report" centers around Ronnie Barnhardt (Rogen), a deluded, self-important head of mall security who squares off in a turf war against local cops.

Faris plays a salesgirl at the mall whom Ronnie lusts after, while Pena is Ronnie's right-hand man at mall security.

Liotta acts as Ronnie's nemesis, a police detective. Plemons plays another guard under Ronnie's purview.

Andrew Haas and Marty Ewing are executive producing the film, which goes into production this week.

:funny: I thought this thread was referring to Seth Rogen and The Green Hornet, and that he will observe and report, not star in it. :whatever:

i hope seth rogen doesnt go in the eddie murphy direction

What part of "this has edge" did you not understand? The Kevin James movie is the family-friendly movie.

Sounds like "Super Troopers", but with mall rent-a-cops. Seems promising.

I'll watch anything Rogen is attached to.

Anna Faris seems to be getting hotter every time i see her.

I'm concerned that Paul Blart's fail will negatively affect this movie, which at the outset, sounded like win.

The trailer was kinda funny.

Is it in Seth Rogans contract that his character has to have sex with someone on screen? Ive seen this fat **** do it like 3 times now.... what the hell

that trailer was hilarious. I'm looking forward to this and I Love You Man.

The trailer is a red band one, so it can't be posted here guys.

Just saw the Red Band Trailer. Looks REALLY, REALLY good. Can't wait to watch this.
