Another pseudo shark horror....in 3D. Not really all that interested but could be good for a laugh. I will not be paying for Real D glasses though.

If a shark bites a 3D boob off...then I am there. If not, then no.

I may see it but it won't be in 3D. It's the most over-hyped, under-whelming innovation I've seen in a long time. It works great in a few isolated movies but virtually every other movie it's failed spectacularly to be any good for more than eye strain. I'll stick to watching unconvincing CG sharks in 2D.

This movie looks so bad ... I have to check it out. I might not make it to the theater, but this will definitely be on my DVD list.

It looks like it could be a fun way to kill a couple of hours of boredom at the theaters, I'll be seeing it this weekend.

Super duper interested in this! Piranah 3D was awesome (P3DD is going to be even awesome:er) and I love these kind of 70-splatter homages :D Too bad they didnt got allowed to go with the original name tho: "Untitled 3D Shark Movie"

I'm betting this to fail, if only because this movie looks to take itself seriously, and it's PG-13. Pirahna 3D on the other hand, did not even attempt take itself seriously, was R for the gore and for the nudity, and honestly, even for basically failing in theaters, I Pirahna having the upper hand if only because it has something to offer for most everyone. I'm not really a gorehound, and I hate nudity for the sake of nudity in a lot of films, and I know someone will bring up the whole "Jaws and most of its sequels were PG" argument, but this movie just does not seem like it will be any fun. Jaws is scary because it was one shark that was terrorizing a local community and then the terror of being alone, or rather a small group, on the ocean while fighting off the shark. I may not have any idea of why these people will be picked off by several species of sharks throughout Shark Night 3D, but it begs the question of why those people just can't get out of the water and tell someone, or call someone or whatever.

It probably take place over the course of a day. They always figure out a contrived way for it to make sense. I like the idea that someone is releasing Sharks into the water. It's not going to be that good though.
I'll just stick with Piranha's 3DD.

I thought Piranha was a lot of fun. As soon as I saw the previews for this, it reminded me of Piranha. Looks like some cheesy fun.

This is only PG13? FAIL. If I wanted to watch Sharks eat people I would actually like to watch the sharks eat people.

This is going to fail because it takes itself too seriously, Piranhas 3DD seems like a lot more fun

Yeah, the PG13 does kind of suck. Lots of missed opportunities without the R rating.

I saw the trailer for it last night and yeah, PG-13 means it's a Netflix rental (hopefully unrated cut) now. This movie will fail, the studios will scratch their heads in confusion on how a 3D movie with sharks could possibly fail and not realize it should've been rated R from the start.

The reason for Piranhas 3D being a success was because of boobs and gore, they said they wanted this one to be more serious and something with more meaning, but what they don't realise is that Jaws did that perfectly, now their only salvation would be R rated, but since it's PG 13 don't expect anything like Piranha 3D

I think if Jaws were released today as-is it would be on the line between PG-13 and an R-rating. Probably be PG-13 instead of PG. Back then there was no PG-13, only PG and then R.

There is a double standard when it comes to blood, gore and violent acts and seeing some boobs. If there's boobs, it's going to get a tougher rating automatically regardless but if it's someone being eaten by a shark it's less likely to get harsher treatment.

All that said, Jaws had a lot more implied violence and death than actual scenes of violent death. Yeah, we saw people actually die but none of them was graphic. Even Quint's death was tame compared to what it would be filmed like today which does make a difference.

It worked back then but a modern audience has already seen so many of those tricks that to really scare them you need to be bolder and more willing to show a graphic death than someone getting tugged underwater or swallowed mostly whole by a shark which should have easily chewed Quint to bits.

I wouldn't call Quint's death tame really. Especially considering it was practical effects, instead of CGI which is what would have been used nowadays.

I mean he's there screaming in agony, gurgling blood whilst the bottom half of him is being shredded. Pretty gruesome really.

Will definitely watch it when it hits dvd for Sara Paxton & Katharine McPhee.

But it is tame. All of it is him yelling and the blood gurgling is about as graphic as it gets and again it's a simple matter of sticking a squib in his mouth. We never see his lower half shredded, it's implied.

Modern movies can do more with practical and CG effects more effectively but it would not have the impact today it did then to the audience. We grew up on that, we're more desensitized to someone making lots of noise and spitting up some blood.

Well i must have seen the uncut version then, cause you see his legs getting chewed to pieces and it lasts quite long.

Do you? It's been a while but all I remember is him kicking, then he gets swallowed up a bit and not much else. Lots of blood but and chomping on his stomach but I don't remember seeing his legs or what's left of them in the shark.

Okay, I watched the scene and other than some more blood and a lot of chewing there's really nothing more to that scene.

Doesn't this movie take place in a lake? How the hell do sharks make it into a lake?

And what kind of sharks are these supposed to be? Brown sharks have been known to live in either fresh or salt water, but I believe great whites and tiger sharks would die in fresh water.

I remember a synopsis from somewhere that these were released or got loose. Probably for some crazy rich hunter and most likely they'll be genetically altered sharks. That's the thing with animals-as-monster movies today: it's always genetically modified to make it scarier.

I can't believe this movie is trying to be serious. They are really missing the target. The should have been awesome cheesy fun with boobs and blood. I'll still check it out, but definitely on DVD.

I might pay to see something else, then stick around and watch Shark Night for free.
