Captain Marvel Should a famous singer contribute to the film's soundtrack?

I've noticed with a lot of films that have a prominent woman based fanbase tend to have a pop star contribute to the soundtrack such as ellie Goulding with 50 shades of grey or Lorde with the hunger games.

Wouldn't it be fun to see someone like taylor swift have a music involvement in the movie? I wasn't a fan of hers til her latest album but a song like blank space for carol would be amazing.

but seriously, I wouldn't be opposed to a Bond style opening track, or even better, something that fits a moment like the Marvin Gaye in TWS or any of the GOTG soundtrack.

Well, Thor had a Foo Fighters song, Iron Man had Black Sabbath, Iron Man 3 had Eiffel 65, and Guardians had a whole bunch of artists. It would not be unusual to have a famous singer involved.

That being said, doing something because "women's movies" do it would be a bad idea. Doing it because it would be good or because Marvel movies do it is fine, but it's counterproductive to think of this as a "woman's movie."

No-one said its a woman's movie. I just said its a movie with a strong woman fanbase which is a good thing.

Plus, not to be a ba*****d or anything but I think we can do better than most of the singers that have appeared in marvel movies so far.

My point remains the same. You know which Marvel movie has a prominent woman fan base? Guardians of the Galaxy. Granted, it also has a prominent male fan base because everyone pretty much loves it. Captain Marvel should be no different. It shouldn't need to market itself differently. It shouldn't seek to market itself in the style of 50 Shades of Grey because that's not what it is.

I don't mind having that, but Marvel (and DC) should really be having them for their other movies as well to play over the end credits. Lord of the Rings has had Annie Lennox doing it for ROTK, and it even won an Oscar for best song. That just adds to the whole marketing of the movie because people will remember the song as well.

Infinity War should have a song too like ROTK in the aftermath of the war. Maybe get Annie Lennox to do another one?

Apparently marvel has been having a chat with Beyoncé to join the marvel u which is probably false but also super awesome if true.

In reality though I reckon they've chatted to her to do a song for one of their films, probably captain marvel.

Gosh I would love Beyoncé in a marvel movie though. Get rid of the whole big three and have Beyoncé as Thor, Jessica Lange as captain America and Lucy lawless as iron man

Oh yeah I've been buying marvel comics for years and posting for years because I hate marvel. You got me!

Honestly though I have no interest in a community that thinks Beyoncé is bad but punisher deserves three bombs in a row. Beyoncé is always amazing

I think Halestorm would be an awesome choice to do a song for the soundtrack. Lzzy Hale's voice is amazing and I don't think she'd have any problem coming up with some kickass song for Captain Marvel.

It doesn't have to have a female artist, but I think it would be awesome. If you listen to some of Halestorm's stuff (Amen comes to mind), I think they would be very fitting for a Marvel movie.. and Captain Marvel in particular.

In a similar way to how iron man had well...iron man (not made for the film but still a big part of its promotion) captain marvel should have something similar but with a powerful girl power message with a totally awesome diva that celebrates carol's power.

It's gonna be looked at as Girl Power no matter what. It's been well over a decade since we've had Marvel or DC attempt a female superhero so that alone is gonna draw a lot of attention along those lines.

Maybe to the casual observer, but I think people who watch the film will be able to appreciate the film for what it truly is. The writers said they don't want to make the mistake of making a movie about "women in power", and I think they can pull it off.
