Showtime vs HBO

My momma is thinking about to switching to Showtime, but we currently have HBO. I love HBO and I really don't want to switch. I don't want to miss next season of Entourage or the Wire but The L Word, Dexter and Splinter Cell are on Showtime and those shows are pretty good. Should I convince her not to switch? Cause she says she won't pay for both.

Also, HBO has the best movies, along with Cinemax sharing the movies, etc.

Starz has crappy movies.

I don't have Showtime so i'll have to say HBO. Although on OnDemand, under the Top Picks menu, i did get to watch season 1 of Showtimes show 'Sleeper Cell' which i enjoyed immensly....

If there is any chance that Preacher is coming to HBO then there is no way you should switch to showtime.

Fight that as hard as you can! (it may be too late already *tear*) Showtime...it should be called Blowtime! It's sucks hardcore compared to HBO's series, miniseries, and movies. Not to mention sports coverage (though boxing fans would debate that argument).

Dexter is the only thing worth watching on Showtime.. Even their soft porn sucks

Not to mention pretty good low budget and documentary choices.

And stand-up comedy? Forget about it!

For awhile, I just had HBO(tons of good shows), but i love the L-Word and Huff and i also like Masters of Horror so currently, I have both. HBO has produced better stuff overall but Showtime is not without it's own gems. Try to get both if you can.

Personally? Showtime. The last HBO show I watched religiously was Sopranos, and I own the whole series on DVD. Showtime I watch: Tudors, Dexter, Weeds, The L Word, Californication, P&T's BS!... Showtime in my opinion has the better series'.
