Shrek the Third!

122 mil. Jam on, Shrek.

There will be a fourth not just because of the money but because kids loved Shrek the Third. Older people may hate it but the kids loved it. I went to see it with a theater packed with kids and they loved it.

Just saw this today
I liked the first and second film, but this one just doesn't compare.
It had a few funny moments, but overall nothing special...the main characters didn't even do much :/

Yup. I liked the movie but thats one of the things I didn't like about it. All he does is get Fiona pregnant, go get Justin Timberlake, and a montage with the kids.

When are Shrek 4 & 5 Coming?

Courier Mail talked to DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg who revealed the dates for the fourth and fifth "Shrek" movies:

AS Shrek the Third opens in Australian cinemas today, work already is under way on Shrek the Fourth and Shrek the Fifth.

Many of the 1400 artists employed at the DreamWorks studio in Los Angeles are busy working on the next two in the series.

"The fourth film will come out in 2010 and the fifth in 2013," says Jeffrey Katzenberg, the former Disney chief who a decade ago founded DreamWorks with his pals David Geffen and Steven Spielberg, and heads the studio's animation arm.

Katzenberg said each animated film took about four years to complete, and DreamWorks had seven or eight in the pipeline now.

Shrek the Third has earned $258.5 million in North America and is opening overseas over the summer.

Went to see it today, slept through the whole thing.
I blame the muscle relaxers.

Film Producer Says More Shreks to Come

Galvanized by the success of "Shrek the Third," Jeffrey Katzenberg says the tale of the green ogre who married a princess will continue. "More Shreks are coming!" producer Katzenberg, flanked by "Shrek" stars Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake, said at a news conference in Berlin on Friday.

Katzenberg said there will be a half-hour animated TV special, "Shrek the Halls," featuring the Shrek characters' versions of holiday traditions.

As for the plot of the fourth installment of the "Shrek" movie franchise, Katzenberg would only reveal that Shrek will have to come to terms with something difficult in his past.

The DreamWorks animated blockbuster opens in Germany on June 21.

Timberlake, who voices the future King Arthur, said his favorite moment while working on "Shrek the Third" was listening to director Chris Miller do the voices of the animated cast.

"He can actually do every voice," said Timberlake. "He does a pretty good Mike (Myers). He can't do a very good Shrek, but he can do a good Mike doing Shrek, so it was a lot of fun to work with him."

Puss in Boots movie

I'm kind of indifferent towards the whole SHREK thing, so see how you feel about this news. Apparently, Antonio Banderas has signed on for a spin-off movie, featuring his character, Puss in Boots. Banderas just has such an awesome life. He spent his younger days playing a sexy latin lover in pretty much every film he was in, getting paid to hook up with everyone from Catherine Zeta-Jones to Angelina Jolie, and now he gets to pick up a dynamite pay-cheque for providing a voice to a CGI character. All he needs now is his own robot and his life is complete.

He tells the Daily Express that "The movie is going to show his back history, from being born a kitten to the swaggering cat that he is today... I've seen the scripts and they're very emotional, as well as very funny, and that's a combination that I think the audiences will like." I'm almost 100% certain that the audience won't include me.

Extra Tidbit: Banderas will be happy that Real Madrid won the Spanish La Liga recently, since he's a big fan.

Saw this last night and it was ok nothing much the other two where far better, waste of money lol.

I was let down by the ending it was a let down after the other two.

so 5/10

As I love the gingerbread man......

I thought the humor was better, can't remember any super dated culture references like the previous movies

I didn't think there was that much humor in this film I can hardly remeber laughing like the other two.

I saw Shrek The Turd the other day and all I can say is
TRANSFORMERS ROCKED!!

Seriously though this one wasn't "bad" but it lacked the charm of the first two. 6/10

why do people still care about this movie... lets just have it die like a fart in the wind.

i laughed @ "shrek the turd"... lmfao!

It sucked big time. 4.5/10 . . .and that's being generous.

I think it was good, but not as good as the first two.

I was let down by the ending it was a let down after the other two...

I was hoping the ending song would somewhat redeem it as well, but they copped out on that too. No big song and dance number, just puss and donkey singing a song I never heard before. I hadn't experienced the "That's it?" phenomenon in a theater for quite some time before that.

Courier Mail talked to DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg who revealed the dates for the fourth and fifth "Shrek" movies:

Now this is getting just as stupid as the Disney DTV. Do they think Sherk can last that long????

Me to I thought that, as much as the film was crap lol I thought it might redeem itself with a good ending and song but it didn't it sucked lol

All they carw about now is getting big names to do voice overs the magic has gone from this film (apart from the ginger bread man I love him still  ) lol.

But I wont see this film again not even rent it, it just wasn't worth my £6 I paid to see it.

Shrek 5 is last one?

Brace yourselves, people, DreamWorks is done with the SHREK franchise. Take a second to let that one sink in. No more ogres with perplexing Scottish brogues going on adventures that jam pack as much pop culture references as possible. Of course, they're not throwing in the towel until after the fifth installment. We still have two more pop culture filled ogre adventures to come! Yay! According to DreamWorks spokesman Rich Sullivan, "The story itself has five chapters. Based on the success of the first three films, at the very least, the next one, 'Shrek 4,' is warranted." Really, because it seems like the story only had one chapter that made a buttload of money so you added another chapter and that made a ****-ton of money so you added another chapter and so forth. Who knows why their choosing to let go of this insane cash cow after the fifth installment when they could clearly be pumping these bad boys out until the end of time but I guess they are. Or maybe they're not. Maybe they're just saying they are to make even more money. Whoa, those evil geniuses!

The fourth SHREK is slated for a 2010 release.
