Sicario

First one was fantastic, hope this can match it. Del Toro's character was a badass.

Loved the first movie so hoping this is as good. Made up that they used the Johannsson's menacing score in the trailer and hope its used in the movie, as I found that it just set the tone perfectly.

I'm not getting the skepticism from some folks. Comments like "generic action film" & "didn't need a sequel" don't make any sense. Is it because Villenueve isn't directing?

The lack of Villenueve and Deakins is a concern yes. The action in the first had a tension to it that may be hard for a lesser talented director to replicate, only time will tell on that, they've tried to maintain the look but again Deakins is one of the best in the business for a reason. Fingers crossed though at the least the writer might come up with a solid story and at least it has the two best characters from the first film returning so its not without hope but the trailer hasnt allied all fears just yet. Maybe the next trailer will be better.

I liked the first one a lot but it bugs me a little that there's no Emily Blunt in this. I guess it makes sense given how Sicrio wrapped up but it still feels crappy to leave the female lead out and just focus on the male characters.

Producer's say Denis might return for Sicario 3

Sicario 3 May Bring Back Original Director Denis Villeneuve http://movieweb.com/sicario-3-director-denis-villeneuve/ … #Sicario3

"He [Villeneuve] wishes he had been available [for Sicario 2]. We even talked about him maybe coming back for the third one, should there be one. He said, 'If I were available, I'd be directing this movie tomorrow.' But we always knew he was going to be in the middle of Blade Runner when the script started to come together."

Man I'd be all for that. His and Deakins' absence is the only concern i have for Soldado, even though the writer's return is a huge positive.

At this point, I'll watch pretty much anything Sherridan writes.

:hmr:

I'd love to see him return to this franchise.

Following Wind River, Sherridan could probably make a pretty good film on his own.

Aw man. He was supremely talented and far, FAR too young. RIP. :(

This guy was becoming one of my favorite composers. He was incredibly talented and this is a huge loss.

This is so freaking sad. He was an amazing talent. In an industry full of bland composers, his work stood out. I would've loved to hear what he did with BR 2049.

This news was like James Horner's passing, completely out of left field. Very disappointing & saddening news, especially since he was just getting started in his career.

he will not score Dune :csad:

Didn't even think about that. Bummer. Wonder if Villeneuve will return to Wallfisch and/or Zimmer again after loving what they did for Blade Runner.

Truly devastating. Sicario has one of the finest scores I've ever heard. That roaring theme as the credits played, I remember having goosebumps.

Pretty good trailer but stupid name change though. Just keep it as SOLDADO.
