Of the listed films, I've only had the opportunity to see Gravity so far.
 
I follow foreign and indie films but I hate to say it, but Sight And Sound is niche, or at least has become niche and less relevant than what it was in the past.

There's so much 'awards' now that unfortunately many get buried or become meaningless. I always root for a film that does get awards, but it's not the end all, be all either. Hell, even with the Oscars, Hitchcock has never won for best Director.
Are you saying the list very niche?

I don't think so.

Plenty of high profile films on there. If you don't limit yourself to only mainstream English language films, the list is wide and representative of the cinema of the year. I think its a good list. Their lists are always good.
