(poor substitution for Darth here)

Yeah, the Daniels definitely left some footprints and style throughout this episode. The way they capture danger and build tension and anticipation by holding on shots to make you wonder what’s going to happen. The wide-shot composition lighting of the interior of the At Achrann base of operations reminded me of how the office building in EEAAO was lit after taking damage from all of the fighting. The whip shot of Hayna sliding to the other end of the bus.

The use of snorricam to convey the disorienting chaos and danger of SM–33 going into berserker mode was signature Daniels.

This felt more like a side quest episode compared to the first three, but you know what I still really enjoyed it. The planet they were on looked really unique and interesting and I loved the stuff with Neel.

Only 4 episodes in and we are already getting some really good character development when it comes to the kids and I definitely appreciate that especially considering the lack of it in the past SW shows.

I also had no idea that these were the same directors who directed EEAAO, but it makes sense. I enjoyed how different it felt from the previous episodes, and I wouldn't mind seeing those directors do more.

Hopefully, they get their own SW show or even a movie at some point.

I just saw a YouTube comment on New Rockstars breakdown for this episode that suggested the rat living inside SM-33’s head of being the actual captain, and the more I think about it, the more I’m now seriously considering this as an actual possibility. :funny:

I mean, when Jod asks SM-33 about At Attin the first time in this episode, after he says his usual “Can’t say I remember no At Attin”, smoke immediately starts coming from his head, most likely from the rat messing with his internal workings, almost like it was trying to stop him. In the very first episode, SM-33 was looking for the captain, meaning he wasn’t on the ship anywhere among the dead or else he would’ve spotted him, so there’s a possibility the captain might still be alive somehow, or he just doesn’t remember due to his memory being blocked by that command given to him. Either way, if he can’t remember anything pertaining to At Attin, including the captain and his identity, then of course he wouldn’t know what he looks like to recognize him.

I mean, as we’ve seen in this show so far, it likes to play with typical storytelling conventions/tropes and our expectations of what usually happens in tales like this. The planet of lost treasure being the actual home of the main characters that they have to get back to, Jod being a pirate who pretends to be a Jedi but isn’t actually a Jedi but can use the Force, etc. So, the equivalent of the parrot sitting on the Captain’s shoulder, the rat that’s with them all of the time, actually being the “lost” captain would not be entirely out of the question. And what better way to hide something than putting it in plain sight, right in front of us without realizing it, not unlike a certain planet holding a certain treasure right under everyone’s noses for our crew to find.

It sounds ridiculous, but I would not be surprised if this theory actually pans out. :hehe:

I'm late to the party with episode 4 but it was a lot of fun. Neel's got rizz. :o

The show has got better since Law's character was introduced. He doesn't seem a very good force user whether good or bad and Neel got some good development here.

Wonder what the secrets are that the droid has.
