A young street magician (Jacob Latimore) is left to care for his little sister after their parents’ passing and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic and brilliant mind to save her.

When Bo, a handsome and gifted high school student, suddenly becomes the sole caretaker for his little sister, Tina, he foregoes college to dedicate his talents to the craft of magic. He wows audiences as a street magician but still has to make ends meet, so he cleverly uses his skills to peddle drugs for the local dealer, Angelo. However when Bo falls for Holly, an adorable teenager in need of support, he decides to get out of the drug business, causing Angelo to threaten his family. Bo must now rely on his sleight of hand and brilliant mind to save the day.

‘Sleight’ Is A Must-See Thriller About A Street Magician [Sundance Review]

Yeh this looks pretty fun. Love the idea of him being a street magician at first.

I see Gus(Dule Hill) so i'm in.

Definitely see the Chronicle influence, but a mix of The Prestige.

A movie that doesnt heavily rely on SFX and a little more on plot & characters....

Coming out this Friday and I am definitely seeing it. We need more dudes from the hood turned superhero. If that is what he is.

Really like the premise of this & am hopeful it can break out and some notable numbers. It looks like a welcome departure from the usual superhero formula.

About to hit a matinee in a few minutes.

It was a very well done flick. It has kind of the feel of Dope without the humor basically. The main character isn't so much a hero as he's a drug dealer flat out, but does what he does to keep his little sister safe.
His abilities come from an electromagnetic device strapped to his arm that he can use to levitate and move objects that his science professor helped him create, and he helps him amp it up later to give him even more power. He's basically Static Shock with the intelligence of Spider-Man if he slung dope.

That's good to hear, I read some not so flattering reviews last night but it's good to see you enjoyed it.

I'm also happy to see the weekend gross for this is currently estimated at $1,690,085 against a $250,000 budget.

I'm a huge Psych fan, so I'm glad to see that Dule Hill is in this, playing the lead villain.

I thought it was a decent movie. I was
kind of disappointed that he didn't have actual powers.
