Lee...now's your time to shine boy-O!

anyhow....waht is the diffence? the only one i can think of is that pubs tend to have pool tables where as bars tend to have neon lights and awful music:huh:

anyone?

pub - British Bar
bar - American Pub

Pubs trick you into thinking they're classy and raise the price on beers.:cmad:

I'd say a pub serves food too, whereas a bar just serves liquor.

Bars where I live serve food and have pool tables and darts as well.

Where I live there's absolutely NO difference, so I was trying to make one up. We're not going to be able to make an all-inclusive definition of either.

i would classify it as, a bar usually has some kind of dance area, whereas a pub is more like a chill atmosphere with no loud music.

so basically, i agree with you

Pubs have footballers inside them and chavs loitering around outside them from what I've been able to gather.

LEE!!! HELP US!!!!

A bar can be any area that serves alchohol. You can have a bar in your house, or in a restaurant. A pub is an establishment in and of itself. Plus, a pub tends to more centered around drinking and eating and hanging around. A bar is more likely to be a club, have live music, etc.

I'm sure there is some actual definition for "Public House" but it probably hasn't been relevent in a century.
