Song in the trailer

Not to sound technical, but while it is a form of metal, I wouldn't call it heavy. Also, nu-metal is so far evolved from actual metal I have a hard time even calling it metal. It's not all terrible, there are a few bands I like, like Deftones for instance, but it's one of those genres that died and is still being made.

The term nu-metal is so over used. Metal heads use it on bands they don't like. News sources use it on bands they can't lable. Stop it please.
After listening to to the band I can't really grasp how it's new metal. very average, yes. nu metal, no.
New metal in the beginning was hard- rock mixed with hip-hop. The only band I can think of that's still playing the same music as they did when "numetal" was the ****- is Nonpoint. Kick ass band by the way. The rest moved on, or quit making music.

everything is great until you commercialize it.

I would call it crap-metal because it sounded like crap being flushed down the toilet.

The song in the trailer is called this fire burns by avenge sevenfold

i'm not a big metal guy, but that song is okay. i think it totally works for the sheer brutality of the video. i especially like the breakdown for the graveyard scene.

I was going to start arguing with you until I saw that you were from Norway.

I will still say that I don't go calling everything I don't like nu-metal. To me that song is an evolved form of nu-metal. It has a heavier hip hop vocals sound. I don't want it to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about.

For the record, the song is not terrible. I enjoyed the breakdown.

I don't like that song one bit. Or the trailer for that matter.

Nu-metal is a term for [loosely called] "metal" with elements of rap or hip hop in it, I.E. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Saliva, you could even go as far to say bands like Suicidal Tendencies, RHCP, even some Anthrax songs (see Killer B's) and some Faith No More songs inspired and/or created the nu-metal movement.

Where you people are getting "people call what they dont like nu-metal" I have no idea. I call what I don't like "music that I don't like"

The song is terrible, imo. But you are right about it having a nu-metal vibe, it's like they combined the nu metal idea with a psuedo black metal idea. in the end, it creates a distrubingly dreadful sound that I do not enjoy at all, and makes me feel like it is making a mockery out of metal all together.

Actually most metal heads are using the term mallcore for the **** they don't like now, it's still basically the same as nu-metal though.

I listened to the whole, I still don't like it very much, it's more in the vain of hardcore than nu-metal/mallcore.

lol, there are plenty of Nu metal bands still going dude. Most of them around way before Nonpoint was even an item (I would know, as I am from where they are and knew about them when they were just a ****ty local act here) Now they're a ****ty mainstream act, go figure!

I'm gonna stop ranting about music now.... I dont even know why I go on these Punisher forums anymore, I have lost all hope and interest in this movie upon seeing the trailer.

I haven't heard the term mallcore since 98

That's what reading/hearing, I guess it's making a comeback.

Dethklok is so stupid and so great.

They got the ****ing 'Atomic Clock' Gene Hoglan on the drums.

Dethklok is also great because of the fact that it is only two members.
