Either the first time you heard them, or if they continually send shivers down your spine, either because it's epic, catchy, amazing, other-worldly, etc.

You know the feeling: You hear a song, and it's almost spine-tingling through its intensity, its simplicity, what-have-you.

I'll start with two songs that really gave me the willies with their emotion, courtesy of Nina Simone.

"Sinnerman"

"Wild is the Wind"

Another piece of epic music that still knocks me on my butt every time I hear it:

Funkadelic - "Maggot Brain"

The epicness of this song is witnessed way better live, because of the rawness. Also because the first time I heard it live, it was in a small place where the whole venue vibrated during the song.

Playing With Fire by Brandon Flowers

Someone made a music video to Roadrunner United's "The End" with pics and artwork from the Dark Tower series--novels, not comics--and managed to sync the lyrics up with art from each novel, running in the proper sequence from the Gunslinger to The Dark Tower.

DJ Shadow's 1996 album Entroducing is actually in the guiness book of world records, credited as the first album ever created entirely of samples. When you hear this song, its amazing that every little piece is a piece of something else, that he constructed this like a conductor with an entire orchestra at his finger tips and made something so beautiful and epic. His love for music of all genres is contained on the entire album. All using his turntables, vinyl, beat machines and tv/movie samples. Not computers or mp3's

Isabella Rosselini's cover of "Blue Velvet." recently saw the film on the big screen and the night club sequence chilled me....it is beautiful. Finally understood why Hopper started crying....

In the air tonight - Phil Collins

(please don't laugh)

Here's a few songs that always give me chills every time I hear them. Some are more 'lame' than others, but what can I say, I'm a sap!

1. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (never ever fails to make me shiver)

[YT]y8AWFf7EAc4&ob=av2e[/YT]

Bump - Ed Sheeran (a recent one I found from a new artist in England, about your dreams for an unborn baby, which has a sad twist at the end :csad:)

[YT]Npp7ZFOgpyM[/YT]

Dream - Priscilla Ahn (makes me feel inspired, hence shivers)

[YT]MKfDwChOoHI[/YT]

Wish you were here - Pink Floyd (especially good when a room full of my friends and I are all singing it at the top of our lungs)

[YT]QCQTr8ZYdhg[/YT]

The drugs don't work - The Verve (because I know so many people it applies to, sadly)

[YT]bR8XH3R95xE[/YT]

Natural Woman - Aretha Franklyn

[YT]G_raVBtLYnM[/YT]

Just the way you are - Barry White

[YT]1BFrTxvxKTs[/YT]

Those two are self explanatory :D

Against all odds - Mariah Carey and Westlife (I'd say the Phil Collins version, but mariah's high notes at the end just make me shiver - and I don't even usually like her!)

[YT]3WblN0jzMX4[/YT]

Prelude in C minor - Chopin (gives me chills in the most depressing way lol)

[YT]7zQYuhR-TUQ[/YT]

Time by Hans Zimmer. It's from the Inception soundtrack, and I always get chills when I hear it.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Massive Attack - Unfinished symphaty

Metallica - Eye of the beholder (the lyrics are spot on)

Metallica - Fade to black

Stephan Zacharias - Hoffnung am ende der welt (Der Untergang soundtrack)

Nick Cave - Into my arms

Black sabbath - The mob rules (that scream at the beginning is not of this world)

Black sabbath - Heaven & hell

Black sabbath - Black sabbath

UFO - Dark days (this band should've been huge, Michael Schenker is simply one of the greatest guitarists that ever walked the planet. I don't care that he drank and is "difficult".)

Within temptation - Our solemn hour

Two Steps From Hell - Freedom Fighters

Pretty much anything by Adele makes my neck-hairs stand up.

Bob Dylan - "Ballad of Hollis Brown"
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska (the whole album, but specifically the title song and "My Father's House")

So not my type of music but can't help but it while listening. Hurt-Johnny Cash.

Collective Soul-The World I know

Frozen by Madonna. The only Madonna song I can really say I like and thats mainly because it gives me chills especially when I listen to it with the video.
