Dude, the Sinatra obsession is really starting to bother me. :(

Dude, the Sinatra obsession is really starting to bother me. :(

And your point?

Besides, Wilhelm's Zepplein fixatuon is way creepier. Referrign to Jimmy Page as "God" is....yeah.

That it's creepy?

I mean, it's not quite JAL weird, so I guess that's something.

I don't see how it's creepy. If I was planning to resurrect his corpse to acknowledge the 10th anniversary of his death next month and perform various rituals and scrifices in his honor, than that's a little different. But I just have a deep connection with his music, something spiritual in a sense, it's hard for me to put into words without sounding like a freak. But tons of peole say that about The Beatles for years.

And my admiration of him goes beyond his talent and womanizing. Something neither Wilhelm nor JAL can boast about their respective celeb obsessions.

With opinions, yes. So could they.

Um, I was referring not just to his talents. Research Sinatra beyond his music. I'm referring to his social activism and charity work. He was extremely noted for his charitable work and activism in Civil Rights causes.

Also, Sinatra's overrated.

Not to start an argument, but how much of him have you really heard. i'm not going trying to be disrespctful here, but please tell me you've heard enough his stuff beyond "New York, New York," "My Way" and "Strangers In The Night" to make that opinion.

Sorry. I fail to see how the cover stops all over the original. Minelli is a legend, and that performance is jaw dropping.

LOVE her version so much more.

This one's a toss-up for me - very different takes but both great:

Original: Lou Reed
[YT]3M1EW1oRI0w[/YT]

Cover: The Cowboy Junkies (Margo Timmins was so damned sexy in this vid...)

There was one a few months ago, but I can't find it, so here's the new one, until the old one is found, or whatever. Post really good/interesting/weird/funny cover tunes here, preferably with links to media [Youtube or whatever].

I'll start with Ben Gibbard doing an acoustic cover of "Thriller"--

i am the walrus

beatles

oasis

oasis and the bootleg beatles

there's some intresting covers of this song if you search on youtube.
