I hate the Sonic comic-book series, but this story is too hilarious not to share.

Ken Penders, former writer for the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book, has just gotten himself into a bitter lawsuit with not only Archie Comics, the publisher of the comic book series, but SEGA themselves AND EA Games.

He is suing Archie Comics for continuing to use characters he created after he left the company.

He claims that a storyline and characters he created for the series were ripped off by Bioware, developers of Sonic Chronicles for the Nintendo DS. (Which is now owned by EA Games, I believe) He is also suing SEGA, publisher of the game.

Nevermind the fact that the characters he created were intended for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which is OWNED BY SEGA.

To make matters worse, he's starting his own comic-book series with these Sonic-styled characters, WITHOUT the involvement of SEGA. (This won't end well..) Here's a "teaser" poster..

Man, I don't think he thought this little plan of his through.

Yea it's like Roy Thomas suing Marvel and new line for making a Blade film because he created him in Tomb of Dracula.I'm sure when he signed the contract with Archie it stated whatever characters you create on this book, we own them.

This is just sad. So very, very sad. As a matter in fact, this song springs to mind
