Okay, so I went to the comic shop with the kiddies this weekend, and My son saw Spider-Ham on this, so we had to get it. (He's 6, back off)
Artwork was awesome, story was just...there. Looks like this will be a Miles Morales led story, which is the least they could do after cancelling his book (which will conveniently be un-cancelled for his movie).

My thoughts: Maybe they will kill off like, all but 5 of the spiders, and make Peter Parker special again? We lost 2 of the more popular ones in this issue, which is fine. My list of Spider-People who need to stay are as follows:

1- Peter Parker (duh)
2- Miles Morales (But back in the Ultimate Universe)
3- Spider-Gwen (also in her own universe)
4- Spider-Ham (guess what? In his own universe)
5- Spider-Man 2099 ( you guessed it!)
6- Scarlet Spider KAINE (Earth 616. He was the only one who I thought was resurrected, has it make sense AND resolve a horrible previous plotline from "the Other")

The rest can be left behind, killed, forgotten. Sorry. As cool as they all are, they are exceedingly unnecessary, IMHO.

Thoughts? Nothing? Well, I figured we could use a new thread!

I've been enjoying the read so far. #3 out today! Tbh, this is my first "Spider-Event" read. I missed SPIDER-ISLAND and SPIDER-VERSE. But I think this is fun so far and well done. Can't complain about anything. The Inheritors I think are good villains and appropriately scary. Did you read PP: TSSM #311? I didn't read SPIDER-VERSE but they truly do feel dangerous and I like the idea of them being the predators to our spiders (prey). That being said, I completely agree with you on getting rid of the excess spider-people. I actually didn't know they cancelled Miles' book?! The main SPIDER-MAN title? Really?

Also, and I think I read somewhere that Christos Gage said that GEDDON is supposed to be Miles-centric.

I read about it being Miles-centric, too. As for canceling Spider-Man, it's just to distance it from Bendis's run, who defected to DC. Also, movie tie-in. Because so many movie-goers will hit comic shops and cause a huge boom for comics! After all, who doesn't want to get a combat high from a 90 minute movie, and then follow it up by picking up a comic with anywhere from 5 to 50 years of continuity to sort through from 3 different universes?

*ahem*
I enjoyed Spider-Verse okay, but I read the first issue and felt this was a big step up. I thought they would be introducing new spiders to kill them off, but it looks like they are actually weeding out some of the other spiders...and 2 are fairly popular! My son is genuinely concerned for Spider-Ham's safety. (MARVEL, DO NOT KILL SPIDER-HAM, or I will share the video of my heart-broken adorable 6 year-old and ruin your year.)

I know it'll never happen, but Miles and Parvitr need to be gruesomely killed off.
I like the new female Ock.
Ben needs to be redeemed before they kill him off. And this isn't how he was left off in his series... So, something odd is going on. Although, I'd rather they not kill off Ben, but I have a feeling that Ock is going to send him on a suicide type mission... :'(
Inheritors NEED to be completely done after this event. I'm sick of them and Morlun.

Spider-Ham needs to live as does Gwen. She seems relatively safe for now though.
I like the new Spider-Kid
I am surprized that we haven't seen the other Live-Action Spider-Man, Nicholas Hammond.

most of the other spider can be killed off.

I did enjoy the Pete/MJ/Annie and Mayday interactions. I really hope we get to see more of that!
Granted, it still isn't the MC2 Mayday...

Lol hey man, it's always a good sign imo when a cbm these days compels audiences to go to their local comic book shop and pick up SOMETHING.

I'm not gonna lie -- after everything I typed the other day about GEDDON, I read #3 on Wednesday and felt it's getting stale. #0 was good (PS4 Spidey), #1 was good, #2 was STARTING to get things going, but now this past issue just felt like nothing really developed. Felt a bit filler. Idk, maybe I need to revisit. Anyone else?

Aloha,
I'm enjoying SpiderGeddon more than I thought. It's a good follow up to Spider Verse. The Inheritors are truly scary and that makes for some good action. I care about the Spiders who may die to save the Spider Verse. The Spiderveres also requires Marvel to refer to the mainstream continuity as Earth-616, something I thought they were getting away from since the Incursion and the destruction of the Ultimate Universe. I think there will be a Miles Morales Spider-Man new title coming out.Just in time for the movie Into the Spider Verse.

Anything that gets anyone to pick up a comic for any reason is a good thing. I may not do everything right as a parent, but at least my kids look forward to the occasional trip to the comic store, or just me going through my comics and saying, "Hey, I have two of this old Spidey comic...you want it?" I do that often for my son and daughter. I gave my 6 year old my old copies of the McFarlane Spider-man 13 and 14. He was PUMPED. We both love the black suit, and those covers just made his eyes sparkle.

I think I liked it, overall. But it didn't really to seem to have any major push or urgency.

Most of my predictions seemed to make it in, but altered. Ben was redeemed. Otto did send him on a sort of suicide mission.

Spider-Force seemed so oddly written. I had no idea what was going on most if the time.

Gwen looked good, her short hair and almost chubby look was oddly attractive. Her comic kept her out of harms way. But was odd.

Ben lives! Ben is cured!

Otto dropped the Ock persona and is now a Spider.

At least we seem to be done with the Inheritors. At least until Mommy inheritor shows up.

I'm gonna be completely honest and say -- I either have such a low bandwidth that I can't remember, or SPIDER-GEDDON's last issue/in general was mediocre that I can't even remember what happened the last issue besides the splash page with all of them and Miles + Cosmic Spidey...

I loved issue #0 and #1 but other than that...not much into it.

Well, I was pumped because one of the artists who contributed to the final issue was a guy I follow on Instagram...and it was his first big Marvel gig. I need to go buy a copy just to support that...because if it was me, I'd be praying every day that it sold like hotcakes so I could keep on going!

Also, now that I've played the Spidey PS4 game, I need to get issue #0.

Issue #0 and #1 are probably the best from the series lol. You'll REALLY like #0 if you played the game.

I LOVE the game! It's been a blast! Going through the DLC, now...so I may pick that up...

Get ready. DLC 3 packs a punch. The whole nine yards. So fun and varietal.
I'm pacing myself a bit, now. kids are back in school, and so is the wife...so I'm not playing as fervently as I was for the last couple of weeks. Can't wait, though!!

Also, it can't be as hard as the punch as the end of the main story....!

I hear ya. Aaaand, all I'll say is it's *a* punch lol.

I appreciate the restraint! Back when the game came out, I had no PS4, and I didn't think I'd ever get to play it. I had a "friend" who called and said he watched the cut scenes and I had to CONSTANTLY stop him from giving away spoilers. GLAD I DID!

YUP. Smart move. So many outlets that can spoil you nowadays though. Like YouTube and and their thumbnails. Try to stay away from any DLC spoilers!

Did anyone see that PS4 Spider is getting his own comic series? Great idea but the stories only take place within the game between gaps. I would've liked to see a prequel or just new story. Story like that (like the STAR WARS comics) bother me. You have a very little sandbox to play in in terms of creating canon, etc.
