Finished filming today, and basically a take on all the inner city violence in the Windy City.

Great cast. Plenty of them who could use a Tarantino reinvention at some point. Great of Amazon to give Spike Lee the freedom to make something completely of his choosing.

Of course I want to see him kicking all the ass, but he needs to remind everyone he's a great actor too, so this seems like a perfect film for him.

This is also Amazon Studio's first theatrical release, and their distribution parter is WB. This may be a good deal for Warner Bros. if these flicks are pretty acclaimed.

So is this suppose to be some what of a comedy? I got a School Daze/Dear White People vibe from the trailer.

Apparently the story is based on a Greek comedy where the women withheld sex from the men to end the war. I get the angle and why he chose the Chicago area now, but there is some controversy over the name choice now (which I honestly think it just came from the fact that people are taking the movie as Spike having fun with a serious issue.)

I'm very interested though.
