In Ottawa, Canada just a couple of hours ago, a stage collapsed and fell not on the crowd out in front but fell backwards where the band, Cheap Trick, had just gotten off stage. The stage may have fell on the band and backstage personnel and there are reports surfacing of a couple of injuries, at least one life-threatening, and that may be the singer for Cheap Trick as he was supposedly hit by something in the head.

Things are still unfolding at-the-moment and there may be several more injuries. This happened during a severe thunderstorm that had incredible winds. Some tents may have collapsed also and more injuries may have occured.

Here is the incredible video (it's pretty bad, hope things turn out for the better):

I hope everyone's ok.

They are, only 2 injures and the band is fine.

OTTAWA At least two people were injured Sunday night when the main stage at the Ottawa Bluesfest collapsed during a severe thunderstorm.

The stage collapsed shortly before 8 p.m. while the band Cheap Trick was performing.

Eyewitnesses say the band members were thrown off their feet.

But the musicians later posted a message on Facebook saying they were all right.

The Ottawa hospital says two people had minor injuries and Bluesfest said there were no serious injuries.

Video posted on YouTube within minutes of the storm showed a stage that had crumpled and collapsed over electronic equipment.

Twisted shards of metal jutted out from the stage, which stood several storeys tall before it was destroyed.

Environment Canada had a thunderstorm warning out just before the storm hit, saying winds were expected to reach 90 km/h.

Hopefully as another poster indicated above, the injuries are less severe and the band is OK. Often when something big goes down like this, initial reports are for the worse.

Just for the record, though, winds may have reached between 100 km/h to 140 km/h. I believe a report came in at 120 km/h.

The drummer's alright, the singer's alright, they just seem a little straaaaanngeeee.

I hope there wasn't a riot. Somebody would've had to call the dream police.

Holy crap!! That stage really went down!!

Another stage went down just last evening under a similar "severe thunderstorm" event. Unfortunately this time, there are reports of at least 4 dead and dozens injured. This one happened in Indiana, Indianapolis.
