Hmm...

just in a general comparison, how would you rate Steve Trevor's WWI commando squad vs. Steve Rogers' WWII crew? They kind of have similar components, ragtag groups of soldiers who are the "best at what they do".

I actually remember who Trevors mates were, personalities, motivations and stuff beside their appearances.

I only remember Redhead Bison from Steve's crew, and that's because I recognised the actor.

I loved CATFA but the howling commandos barely registered as little more than extras.

EDIT: ok, yes I forgot about Bucky, but I don't really associate him much with the commandos.

Yeah Steve Trevor's team takes this one easily.

Trevor's crew, simply for the line, "His people." That spoke volumes.

Steve Trevor's team was given a lot more screentime and characterization than the Howling Commandos so there isn't much to compare.

Trevor's easily. But do we really need this thread? Another DC vs Marvel thing come on.

Not only Trevor's team was written better than HC, but even Steve himself was written better as a character in this one than Peggy in TFA.
I hate the fact that Marvel doesn't bother with rich characterisation of their love interests.

Trevor's team, easily. I barely remember Rogers' guys. That said, I loved both movies.

Rogers had Bucky.... That's all I need. BTW stop with Marvel v DC

I wrote this in another thread:

I will concede that the group in Wonder Woman were inspired by the Howling Commandos in TFA. But they had just enough development and characterization, with the French-Algerian being at first the slick operator that lets Diana deal with... let's say unwanted male attention. He then introduces her to the concept of racism. The Scottish fellow had more personality than Bucky, never mind the Commandos, and introduced Diana to PTSD and what war can do to someone's psychology. And the Native American chap showed her the relativism of morality over generations. Whereas TFA pretended that the U.S. army was desegregated during WWII. (It was not.)

All around a vast improvement, even if it is also a blatant copy.
