Kind of a dumb time for anyone not living in California (i.e. most of the damn world). Ah well.

Is it me, or is this show a 12/10? Seriously it has been a blast watching it.

The show is alright but it's not not a 12/10, because it can't hold up to true masterpieces like Twin Peaks, X-Files, Sopranos, The Wire, True Detective, Fargo, or Firefly or Daredevil, even Mindhunters is better. Stranger Things is a very solid 7.5 and became a guilty pleasure for people who were young in the 80s and nowadays 12 year olds. Don't get me wrong, i love the show and i can't wait but let's keep things real.

Mindhunters is better than Stranger Things? Really?

And this is coming from a guy who's seen Zodiac ten times.

Mindhunters' on-screen romance rivals only Twilight.

Apples and oranges.

Stranger Things is solid and perfectly enjoyable to me, but like Mr. Robot, it's too dependent on its influences to really stand above, imo.

Absolutely, imo.

And nothing about that show has attempted a romance. Not sure if you saw the whole thing...

I did, but I will concede that the ending was so... unsatisfying that I don't exactly recall how it ended. The main character lied about a tape... and then it just sort of ended.

Half the show is awkwardness between the protagonist and his hippie girlfriend. Well, it might not literally have been half, it just seemed that way because the scenes were so painful to sit through. Where's the Zodiac Killer when you need him?

I'd give it a 2 and half stars, but you know, Amy Schumer.

20 minutes left....

Mad Max's brother is a grade A POS. Hope he gets eaten by some eldritch horror.

This thing with the Sheriff imprisoning/playing house with Eleven is all sorts of weird.

I am almost on ep 3 and this is how I feel so far.

They never found Barbs body when Eleven went to the Upside down in the Bathtub to find Will and Barb she said that Barb was gone and that's pretty much all they did.

Anyway just started Episode 1 and Episode 2.

I always wondered if any of the kids the company experimented on was still alive and if they would come into play. They teased that at the start of the season so I wonder what's going to happen with that and I can't wait to find out.

It was great to see that Hopper knew that Eleven was alive and he has been taken care of her hiding her from the company.

Im liking the new Character Mad Max but her brother is such an dick he's pretty much the new Steve this season

I'm on episode 6... loving it so far.

It really does feel like a great sequel to a great first movie that doesn't really fall into the trap of repeating things.

“It’s finger lickin’ good.”

Finished it. Not as good as season 1, but still very good. Episode 7 was really awful though. Didn't like that one at all.

Just finished the season and I loved it. I was a bit scared at how they would be able to keep the show fresh and as good as S1 but that wasn't a problem.

The only weak link of the season was the Red Ranger. His character just was a waste of time.

I disagree. I think a show has to be able to be enjoyed by all ages in order to be a level 12/10. The shows you listed are too boring or not kid friendly at all.

‘Stranger Things’ Star Charlie Heaton Banned From US Because Of Drug Traces – Report
By Bruce Haring

A UK newspaper is reporting that Charlie Heaton, one of the stars of Netflix supernatural series Stranger Things, was denied access to the US and missed the second season premiere because traces of cocaine were found in his luggage.

The Sun claimed the 23-year-old actor, who plays Jonathon Byers on the series, was caught by drug-sniffing dogs at LAX. Border officials then allegedly found traces of white powder on his personal items. The Sun cited an anonymous source who claimed there was a “very small amount” of what was confirmed to be cocaine.

Heaton was sent back to the UK, forcing him to miss the premiere. He was not arrested, according to the newspaper, but was detained at the airport and then put back on a plane to London.

Netflix would not comment on the incident or on Heaton’s future on Stranger Things.

Just finished episode 3, to me, this show is just as fantastic as season one so far. I love everything about this show: the characters, the banter, the mystery, the atmosphere, the cinematography, the SCORE, the music in this show builds atmosphere like no other. The Duffer Brothers are showing other sci-fi shows how you do it. I'm excited for the remaining 6 eps and hope it keeps momentum.

I really liked it... [BLACKOUT]It felt like a cross between X-Men and The Lost Boys[/BLACKOUT]

And it does it's job on setting up things as a bottle episode.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as the first season, but it was good fun.

I felt that it was too much like the first season, really.

That's a very dumb criteria. Not everything needs to be kid friendly to be quality storytelling or quality television. And I don't know what rock you're living under, but kids watched X-Files, Daredevil, and Firefly. And some kids will have watched the other shows listed as well. Not all kids are sheltered and delicate snowflakes.

Max acessibility isn't the same as "best". Also, boring's such a terrible word to use to criticise something. "Too slow-moving" is something i can understand, but "boring"? Seriously? That's the word a high school student will use to describe Citizen Kane, not a word that should seriously be used to say something good or bad. Because if we go by that criteria, i've seen some get bored by the beginning of Stranger Things, while X-Files hit the ground running. That was probably because Stranger Things followed a longer form of storytelling that might not be for everybody either. Hell, not that long ago, most barely any tv show was allowed to be like that because it risked losing the public's interest.

I have yet to finish this new season, am on episode 6 and have been liking it a lot so far. But fatzke's argument still stands. This is a great show, and i would argue that it's one of the best running right now. But there are so many other shows running right now that are up there too, and might even be better. Off the top of my head (not counting Mindhunter because it was already mentioned) both American Gods and Westworld had fantastic first seasons. There was also the incredibly underrated Penny Dreadful which certainly wasn't a lesser show than Stranger Things. Then there are also some that i haven't had the oportunity to watch yet but seem to be realy good, like Handmaid's Tale. The list could go on and on. Even Game of Thrones, which has had a weaker 7th season, has reached heights i have yet to see Stranger Things reaching.

But here's the thing. Does it even matter that Stranger Things is or isn't the greatest show ever? I watch it because i like the characters, narrative and style. Not because it punches all the other shows. Same reason i watch so many of the shows i listed above. It's because of what each particular one can give. It doesn't realy matter if one is better than the other. As long as they're consistent to themselves.

I liked the second season, though I felt the first was better. It was great fun and entertainment.

I thought we would get a better explanation about Hopper leaving those Eggos for 11. That was the biggest story issue I had with this season.
