Study says men with beards are more attractive compared to clean shaven

It's true, actually. :cwink: Beards are God's gift to Man.

I've had one for a little under two years. Fortunately, it grows in full.

And yes, the ladies generally dig it.

I haven't been clean shaven in over four years.

Depends on the length of beard.

I prefer short, scruffy beards to bushy beards.

I would say in my experience of being a beard wearer, I certainly suit wearing one and look & feel more confident WITH one rather than when I didn't have one. Had one properly (full beard) rather than just goatee for around six years now and I've had more 'interest' in me with a full beard, than ever had, without a full beard. Not saying it's related or I'm trying to be 'big' and show off, but having interest from the opposite sex, in itself, beard or no beard for me, is quite a step.

Study says that people in line with current fashions trends are more attractive than people that are not.
Yeah, Captain Obvious "study", tell me something I don't know.
Useless article as useless can be.

Edit : quantum rolling eyes.

Eh, as a dude who likes dudes - facial hair is actually usually a turn off for me. Clean shaven all the way.

Unfortunately, I'm only able to "grow" a patchy Keanu Reeves style beard But sometimes I don't really care and let it grow, until I decide it looks stupid and shave it all off... it's cycle that keeps repeating.

I think it mostly just depends on the guys who are basically attractive no matter what. (There are exceptions of course) That's like saying "men with long hair are more attractive," and people are then only picturing someone like Jason Momoa

I've had a beard for 6 years. I keep it long and bushy in the winter. It keeps my face warm and keeps it from getting chapped. You wouldnt think a beard could stop wind and cold from getting to the skin, but it does really well.

Also I hate being clean shaven. It irritates my skin and when I'm clean shaven I look like a damn teenager.

Were you using an electrical or manual razor when you shaved ? Did you applied shaving lotion ( cream, not liquid ) ?
Joking part : when 800 years old you will be, teenager looking bothering you it will not ( geez speaking like Yoda simple it is not ).

Problem for me is it gets too damn itchy, then it grows unevenly, I don't want to put in the effort to maintain and groom it.

I've used old school safety razors, modern multi blade razors, cheap, expensive, Schick, Gillete. I've got electric trimmers with the parallel bars heads, and one with the 3 round heads. I've even got one of Philip's little electric groomers that uses the disposable blades. I've used standard, menthol, eucalyptus and sensitive shaving creams from gillette and Barbasol. Even Proraso from Italy. The kind that you have to mix with water and lather with a brush. I've used some shaving soaps too and the gel. I've tried different after shaves, even some with witchhazel. None of it seems to make a difference. When I shave clean my face gets splotchy, dry, peels, and I break out on my chin and neck. And it just feels irritated and itchy.

I just split the difference.

It grows uneven for me as well, which is why I trim it down to a certain length.

Do fake beards count?

Some people just look wrong clean-shaven. :funny:

I can't even grow a full circle beard, so I just opt for clean shaven, even if it means I'll likely get carded well into my thirties.
