Stuff Harls Likes To Call Art

"Face It, Tiger..."

Finally something I can share without cringing! I don't really read Spiderman, but MJ was begging to be drawn. I liked how it looked with the sketchy lines, so I didn't have a final inking/lines, but I think it turned out okay anyways. My computer is being wonky though so I couldn't do as much as I wanted coloring-wise either.

This is definitely my favorite piece out of the drawings you've posted. The sketchy feel of it does add to the drawing IMO. Can't say I care too much for what's going on with the hole in the jeans... sort of looks like she has wrinkled skin vs the jeans just looking tattered... but everything above the waist is beautiful. Love her face, hair and positioning of arms the most.

Thanks for your input, knowsbleed :)

"The Cat & The Bat"

Finally done! This took sooooo long, and I did it all in pencil, which I don't normally do.

I know there are about 3.8 trillion variations of this same scene... Catwoman & Batman... but ah well. I kinda like it.

I need to practice drawing men more.

"oh my?" Whats that mean? D:

Hmmm. thats how I would kiss her so good job! :)

"Sexy Zatanna"

(Can't think of a title now..) Oh my goodness. My hands hurt, but I think it's worth it. I've been working on it over the course of a couple of days. There are some things I'd like to tweak, but my hands and eyes are pretty much dead right about now, so I'll let them go. Overall, I'm pretty happy with her. Oh, and I played around with several different chair ideas but I couldn't find one I liked, so she's floating. Or sitting on an invisible chair. She's a magician, so it works xD

What do you think ?

Definitely lives up to its name. Particularly nice work on the hair.

Harls, your MJ is amazing! I love her webbing panties!

Your Zatanna is good too. You have a good grasp of perspective and color. The only thing I might criticize is the facial expressions. You might need to look at some photos of peoples faces with different expressions and practice drawing them.

You have 100x more talent than I do, so take that for what it's worth.

And your "Tree Hugger" pic is adorable. That would make an awesome t-shirt.

Thanks! I had a battle with that hair, but it came out okay.

Thank you very much for your in-depth comment :atp: I definitely agree I need to practice faces more. I've just begun to grasp the placement of noses/eyes/etc on faces and the angles - and that's with a neutral expression! I feel like I get ten times better with every completed drawing, though, so I'll keep practicing and one day, I'll get it right :hrt:

Any time Harls. I grew up with 2 friends who were somewhat talented artists. They were always hearing how great their work was from everyone, and would come to me for real criticism on what wasn't quite right with a piece they were working on. I would tell them how to fix it, and they were always grateful for my criticizing eye.

I have an artist's eye, but not the hands for it. That's why I limit myself to photo manipulations, inking, and coloring.

You've got real skill. Keep practicing, and posting!

Love your drawings Harls! I especially like the tree hugger and MJ ones. Very cute :yay:

"The Wonder Tan"

sooo, this is Wonder Woman taking a day off crime fighting to tan at the beach :) ♥ I'm not very pleased with how she came out. I had tried to digitally paint her at first, because I like how that looks, but it still didn't look right so I threw away 3 hours of work and colored her this way instead... iunno. I'll work at it another time... I'm tired of looking at this.

Oh, and I hate backgrounds. And beaches.

Harls, another great effort. The only thing I see a bit off is her right shoulder. It should be a little higher, almost on par with the height of the other. The coloring is very good! And your facial placement is coming along as well.

DEM BOOBs.

dat booty.
Thanks for the constructive criticism, Aesop ;D :awesome: (But really, thank you!)

Thank you. I see what you mean... overall I'm not happy with this attempt at all and wonder where it even came from. Ugh. And I'm glad you believe the faces are getting better, I'm trying! :)

Are all your figures original, or do you base the pose off of an image?

DC gives WW extra clothing, Harls says ''**** it'', I'm giving her no top.
