World Superman III & IV: Your Thoughts?

Clark Kent IS a DISGUISE, an ACT.

ah. THe "Superman is a lie, Clark Kent is real" fraction. :whatever:

Who is the disguise, and who is real, is a matter of opinion, not fact.

biggest missed oppurtunity was the possible Lois,Lana,Clark/Superman love triangle (or rectangle depending on how you look at it)

Would ya call it a rectangle, or a square though? Do ya know what I mean?

"I can pull powers out of my ass"

:funny:.

I watched the movie a week or so ago and had a tough time. It wasn't very exciting and it just plain sucked. Chris Reeve looked embarrased.

Which movie are you talking about?

Never saw Catwoman

Neither have I, and I have no intention of ever doing so.

SUPERMAN REDEEMED is awesome, and I recommend it to anyone.

Superman III isn't a horrible movie by any means. I totally side with Kevin on a few aspects.

The thing that saves III for me is the concept of having the villain be a computer.

I -- Superman vs. Super Human (Lex Luthor)
II -- Superman vs. Super Alien (General Zod)
III -- Superman vs. Super Computer

That tranisition in villains felt like it came right out of the Fleischer cartoons, where Superman would fight Nazis, then a giant monster, then a robot and so on. All the varying threats that make up "A Job for Superman" and prove the Man of Steel can take on a challenge of ANY sort.

Superman III is my guilty pleasure. I fully realize how much the fans despise it and my favorite Superman film will always by Donner's '78 original. But that said, I still get a kick out of watching it.

"The Quest for Peace" on the other hand...that's my choice for "Worst Comic Book Film EVER." It's horrid...and it depresses me to think about it, knowing how unbelievably high the grace that franchise fell from was...

Like Marc McClure had said..."It should've been left to Donner."

Superman IV gets my vote as one of the worst mistakes ever made bya film company. I decline to actually call it a movie as it's so incomplete, so unfinished, so rushed that it's almost like a collection of daily rushes.

Superman IV was the worst for me as we had already seen a much better "SuperAlien" confrontation in Superman II.

If Superman can take Zod and co then Nuclear man should have been a breeze.

The thing that saves III for me is the concept of having the villain be a computer.

Oh lordy. Anytime anyone complains about modern CGI "looking like a video game" I'm going to have to mention the complete suckiness (even for its day) of the Grand Canyon flight scene.

Kevin was right, though, the woman getting turned into a cyborg freaked me right the **** out as a kid.

lol I said the concept...now the execution of that concept is the arguable aspect. But the idea was solid, I feel...
