I am working on a self-created project called "Supermonkey", it's exactly what it sounds like: Monkey super-hero, set in the year 4098, saving people and running from a international conspiracy to assassinate him. I need an artist to draw the book. I have scripts ready for the first two issues and more on the way.

PM me if you're interested.

reminds me of that old book by Ron Lim about the Chinese hero Monkey King in a futuristic setting... i think it was called Dragon Lines.... did you ever see it?

Supermonkey aren't you like a fantastic artist? Or was that a different supermonkey?

I draw like a five-year old :o. I never read the book in question, but my character is coincidentally the Prince of Monkeytown.

Legal trouble much?

Arc 1 deals with Eggward coming into his own as a superhero in the nation of Indo-China, for years he has worked on a super-power formula with his now estranged friend Walton. He foils a revenge-heist by the legendary Green Thief. Soon after, he is contacted by the government of Rodenttown, a neighboring nation.

A team is formed, the Fifth Brigade, under the leadership of Eggward. Little does he know that this is merely a ruse to assassinate him and bring Indo-China's secret police/intelligence agencies back into full control of law enforcment.

The team adventures for a few months, foiling various terror attacks and fighting against the rogue nation of Tibet. A war breaks out between Indo-China and Rodenttown, and the afforementioned nation. Eggward's crusade against crime becomes personal when his father, the King-Mayor is killed by revolutionary terrorists and he is forced to become King-Mayor of Monkeytown.

Arc 2 begins with the seeming death of Eggward after rescuing a hijacked plane. Another mysterious Supermonkey appears, followed by another. Monkeytown is thrown into chaos for over a year as anarchy erupts. Killing sprees are committed by a villain known only as the Deathonator.

The number of Supermonkeys rises to five and a full-blown Battle of the Supermonkeys eventually breaks out between the five people claiming the title, Walton Smartingworth, Eggward's old friend, now superpowered and going under the name Evil Monkey, and Eggward's old friend and teammate, the female squirrel Nutsy McBeaver. This is eventually resolved when the newest claimant to the mantle of Supermonkey is revealed to be Eggward.

Eggward and his new girlfriend and former teammate Kiki move to the Arabian Desert. Eggward, a long time scientist, studies the odd radiation readings in the area, and a mysterious visitor from the future arrives, asking them to follow him to help overthrow a tyrannical alien Emperor who's lust for power has reached earth.

And thats only the first 80+ issues, with a lot of extraneous stuff left out. I have one-paragraph descriptions for over 400 issues. I need an artist for the first two issues to begin with, if you wish to stay on, you can.

I fully intend to publish this one day, but that's not for a long time and not neccessarily with the same artist. Right now I just want to produce a good book, hopefully on a pretty reliable schedule. I have 400 issues planned out, so this could go on for as long as I have an artist.

I will post issue-by-issue descriptions in a couple weeks.
PM me if you're interested.

are you thinking of cybermonkeytron?

Right you are my bad I was thinking man he's really good why is he asking for help:D He SM maybe you two monkeys could hook up.

sent him a PM. We'll see what happens. What does everybody think about the outlines?

the tone of it seems interesting... kinda hard to judge. would be interested to see some sample dialogue. is it set in a fully anthropomorphized world?

I actually wrote that up on the spot, seeing as how I'm not at my home computer (where the scripts and outlines are) I'd say the composition of the Earth's population at the beginning point of the book is 80% monkey, 10% squirrel 5% Skunks and other rodents, 2% Gorrilas and other apes, 2% everything else, 1% human (although the world at large believes humans to be extinct).

Just a note, if anyone wants to check it out, this is set in the same universe as my partially-completed "Toilet of Doom" screenplay, somewhere in the back pages of FanFic, but this is much more serious in tone. Please understand, these aren't Funny Animals, these are living, breathing, intelligent monkeys.

I haven't actually finished any other project I've started writing :-)O), but I'm definitley committed to this. I am still writing, and I'm about to find some pics of the dolls they were based on.

Just a sec.

This is what the look of the character of Eggward Martinez/Supermonkey was based on, minus the goofy t-shirt. I'd like the art to look something like that, but not a carbon copy.

Yes, I'm serious. Although the artist will have to un-kiddify the look of Eggward.

Part 2:

They eventually defeat the armies of Papaloo, the future emperor, and liberate earth. Our erstwhile monkey friends return to their present, where they encounter one of the Last Humans on Earth, Yama Yoseff, an Israeli woman living off the land in Arabia. Yama becomes a celebrity upon her move to Monkeytown, but a mysterious organization known only as Death To Humans targets her for death.

Yama flees to Canada, where she encounters other humans, including the mutated survivors of the attack on the legendary X-15. She falls in love with Sam, a male human and stays in Canada, ("The Last Humans on Earth" Mini-Series)

The Green Thief and his henchmen return. This leads to a confrontation in which Kiki is kidnapped and mentally tortured in an attempt to turn her against her friends. Supermonkey goes into a rage and continues beating the henchmen after they surrender. Kiki is cured and Eggward is brought up on military charges (he is a fighter pilot) of excessive force. He is sentenced to two years in prison.

SuperSquirrel (Nutsy McBeaver) becomes leader of the team and they engage in several extra-dimensional adventures. After Supermonkey returns, the visitor from the future comes back and takes them into space.

They embark on a two-year long Space Expedition. They recruit Oglethorpe (pronounced Ogg-ul-thorp), a primitive tribal alien and they fight Papaloo's armies.

Upon their return, Supermonkey and Kiki are married, but their wedding is interrupted when a mysterious Assassin begins targetting political figures around Monkeytown. They fight him.

Kiki comes out of a coma, apparently re-entering Real life. She is told that Brigade 5 was only her comatose delusion. She goes temporarily insane and kidnaps several people. She wakes up and it is revealed that she was under the psychic influence of Assassin. She rejoins the team after Assassin is killed.

This goes to about Issue 200, give or take.

In a week or two, I will post the script for Issue One. I have broken it down panel-by-panel, instead of plot first. I will also post the 400-issue outline, plus the seven mini-series and some character data.

For illustration, RogueDK is a real professional, I am interested but I'm not nearly as good and I've only made 2 true illustrations (1 was a comic issue of the beginning of Bram Stoker's "Dracula" based on the actual Vlad Sepish and the other one was a childrens book called "Rain did not come" about the dry season in the Africa, both were for High School projects though) But I'm willing to sketch a couple character ideas for ya for the fun of it and if you like what you see I can hop aboard and if not, no hard feelings. I'll try to get some sketches/character designs done by next Friday at the latest.

forgot to bring the outlines, but I'll have them to you all in a couple weeks. I'll be posting some sample pages (scripts) from the first two issues.

Thanks for keeping up interest.

Sorry about the wait. I forgot again. Give me time (a few weeks). Heres a rundown on some story arc info. I would ask any artist who signs up to stay on for at least one complete story.

#1-2: "Dawn of the Supermonkey"
Prince Eggward's palace is seized by the forces of the infamous Green Thief, and the young Eggward must return to crime fighting to save his friends as the SUPERMONKEY. Meanwhile, a conspiracy develops within the intelligence circles of southeast Asia to remove Supermonkey and the threat to power he represents.

#3-5: "Alien Invasion"
Just days after being recruited as leader of the joint Indo-China/Rodenttown paramilitary team Brigade 5, Supermonkey is thrust into a position of leadership when spaceships descend on the skies above south Asia Monkeytown. But not all of the Fifth Brigade will make it back down.

#6: "Under Pressure"
The Brigade 5 is called to the Chinese Embassy to defuse a bomb. Bomb expert Sniffles and former police officer Spots handle the bomb, while Supermonkey and SuperSquirrel rush to hunt down the terrorists who placed it.

#7: "Act of War"
Brigade 5 causes an international incident when they are ordered to remove a high-ranking threat to Indo-China's safety -- a Tibetan military officer.

#8-10: "Behind Enemy Lines"
The team fragments as four of its members are called into active service in the war against Tibet. Eggward is shot down over Tibet while participating in a bomb raid on the capital. Sniffles sneaks across the border and launches a one-man rescue operation.

#11-14: "The King is Dead!/Long Live the King!"
In the new Brigade's first mission, they accompany Eggward's father, the King-Mayor of Monkeytown, to Tibet on a public relations mission, but they are called away when a situation arises back in Indo-China. The King decides to go ahead with his scheduled speech, but is cut down by a sniper's bullets, and Eggward's world changes forever.

#15: "Requiem Prologue: The Conquest of San Antonio"
After becoming the King-Mayor, Eggward makes a fateful decision to stay on as leader of Brigade 5. He and Captain Arctic respond to an emergency over the Pacific - a hijacking. They enter the plane and seize control, landing in San Antonio. But a bomb explodes, killing everyone aboard.

#16-21?: "Requiem, Act I"
Stuff happens. A full-blown Identity Crisis ensues after the death of Supermonkey and the discovery of his secret identity. Several people attempt to claim the mantle he left vacant, but all are harassed by the MEA and those opposed to vigilante justice. They soon become divided against each other, unable to protect Asia. Smartingworth strikes, launching a biowarfare attack and crippling Monkeytown.

There's more, but that's all I recall off the top of my head. I will have it soon.

The position of artist has been filled. Please close this thread.

P.S.: If you read this, artist, add a tail. I forgot to include it in the PM but didn't want to clutter your inbox with three different PMs.
