Most of the stories are about Affleck because he is the biggest part of the movie that we know nothing of. We already know how Cavill is as Superman, his commitment to physical training, what his suit looks like, etc.

Affleck will presumably be the second male lead of the movie, not only that, he's going to be the Batman of the DCCU, and we don't even know what he'll look like yet. Of course people are discussing him.

there was a lot of controversy over affleck's casting and we are being promised new suits that aren't completely black and this is the first ever superman/batman movie. so I don't think that a lot of speculation over how batman fits into the story makes it batman movie, with a pinch of superman.

I'm pretty sure WB have no control over what get's talked about in regards to their movie. Of course people are going to be more curious about Affleck, his Batman is an unkown quantity. That has no bearing on the actual movie since these articles have nothing to do with anyone actually making the movie.

The sequel to Man of Steel is a Superman/Batman movie, thus why all press releases are referring to it as such

(the name that comes first doesn't indicate the lead character, especially considering there might be dual-leads, and one name still logically has to come first).

Since Zod was the pinnacle of his people, who could come in and challenge SUPERMAN? Superman, Superman, Superman. Not "Okay, Batman time!" The decision to include Batman was to give Superman the right friend/foe to continue in a universe full of other heroes set to appear and Batman was the logical choice... but only after Supes was and IS the initial focus to his sequel.

Alfred is the only Bat-casting other than Affleck afficiated with Bats. Supes? Martha Kent, Lois Lane, Perry White, Lex Luthor..

..connect the dots. This is Superman's universe.

Anyways, yeah I assumed this wouldn't be a straight MOS sequel when they announced Batman is in. It'll be a continuation of Clark's story, and it is the direct sequel to MOS, but I predict that there will be a pretty equal focus on both characters

It just seems that some people have a big problem with labels.

Some people don't like the idea of Batman being in "Superman's movie", but a Justice League movie with several characters taking screen time away from Superman is okay...

geetard needs to relax with his thread police badge. I think it's a valid issue worthy of a dedicated thread.

Batman is bigger than Supes, plain and simple. People think Bats is stealing Supes thunder? That's because he is. The majority of the buzz is around Batman. People want to know the approaching they're taking on him, what his powers will be like, what his suit will be like... It's their way of getting Batman, which sells like crazy, back on the big screen without technically rebooting the franchise with another origin movie.
