Survivor: Second Chance

I have stopped trying to predict in any way the outcome.

It seemed to me (before the last program) that the four girls could have formed an alliance leaving at lest three of them to go into the final. Kelly could have then at some stage used her immunity idol as a protection. The all girl alliance is now 'out the window' and anything is possible.

To my thinking the girls have made a huge mistake. Any thoughts?

Okay, Abi Maria would have been an unpredictable thorn in the alliance - but at least three of the girls would be standing at the end and it would have been worth the risks involved.

The girl alliance never really made all that much sense since Tasha was not really on board and the other girls knew it which in turn forces them to try and form other alliances.

It sort of made sense for Tasha to not go with the girl alliance since if she didn't win the final immunity challenge she was the most likely to be voted out. Plus if she really does feel that strong players should make it to the end then cudos to her for sticking to her guns (though I think its a stupid way to play).

Either way I think that Tasha and Kimmi were pretty much guaranteed to make the final four, baring of course an the fifth player winning immunity. Even then I suspect it would be either Jeremy or Spencer going home.

Thanks Wyrminarrd.

You probably correctly say that it would have been a huge mistake for Tasha to align with the other girls. She was indeed brave in sticking to her guns and take a chance in the mix with the boys.

That was a crazy vote.

Go Spence Go. Still rooting for him to win it all.

I can honestly say this is one of the most satisfying ends to a Survivor I have seen and I've missed maybe 4 seasons altogether. Just quality play and editing all around.

They truly saved the best for last. 31 seasons and this was clearly the best of them all. Great game play, non-stop blind sides, smart players (most of them at least), pretty good final tribal questions; the list goes on.

Now I'm worried for the next season...how can they possibly top it?

Indeed. The editing was fantastic tonight. I really thought Spencer was going home in the second and third tribal council, all thanks to some brilliant editing.

Speaking of the tribal councils, holy ****. So much tension. Three of the best TCs in history, back to back to back. All that being said...Kimmi, get off your friggin high horse. "You're a bully. You are what I will show my children when telling them not to do." :whatever: Are you also going to show your children you, looking Jeremy dead in the eyes and lying? Its a game. Spencer's move was aggressive, but I admire it. Kimmi needs to get over herself.

All that said this is far and away the best season in the game's history, IMO. Highest level of collective gameplay that we have ever seen. Plus unlike some other good seasons like Pearl Islands, All-Stars and Heroes vs. Villains, we actually have a deserving winner. Jeremy played a masterful game. He was in control, alongside Savage, throughout the game. Yet he was never once on the radar for being voted out (until Kimmi's flip). That is impressive.

Some may say that Jeremy won through emotional manipulation when he revealed the baby. I disagree. Spencer gave the game away when he flipped back to Jeremy and Tasha after blindsiding Fisch. That was his time to take control of the game and instead he handed the reigns right back to Jeremy. In his eyes, he was probably using Jeremy as a shield (stronger player who keeps him from being targeted) but it backfired in a big way. You can't take that person to the finals. He had a chance to rectify the mistake by going with Wiggles, Abi, and Keith last week...although Abi kind of ruined that. He should've seized control post-Fisch. He blew it there. Still a great season for him. I am positive he will get a third chance (my guess is there will be another all-star Blood vs Water in a few years and he will be on with his girlfriend).

^ I kind of feel like Spencer's over Survivor.

This season was so damn good. I like Spencer (and Kelley) but Jeremy is a deserving winner.

OMG Caleb from BB next season? :lmao:

Jeremy deserved that win.

I didn't see all of the reunion special. Did they mention next season?

Yeah, it's going to be another "Brains, Brawn and Beauty" version. The teaser they showed had a bunch of medical issues being addressed and showed at least one person being pulled from the game via helicopter for medical reasons.

Oh ok. Thanks. any returning players? or all new?

Looked like there was at least one evac by boat also. This coming season looks like it is going to be absolutely brutal.

I just read that Vytas wasn't allowed to attend the finale/reunion show. I guess after he was voted out, instead of staying wherever non-jury members were supposed to stay, he decided to go back to the States. According to him, someone posted on social media that he was back early, thus was voted out. Since he came back as early as he did, CBS considered it a breach of contract/confidentiality and banned him from the reunion.

You know, I didn't even notice his absence. I totally forgot he was on this season. There were so many big moves, big names, etc. It was hard to notice his absence.

I'll say this about the reunion show: I wish so much time was not wasted on Joe. Lord, talk about an overrated player. Sure, he is good physically but has zero strategic game and his social game does not seem to be as good as the edit makes it out to be (Fisch, Abi, Ciera, and Wentworth all seemed to have a bit of dislike toward him, I don't think Joe could've won the jury vote unless he was sitting next to Abi and Keith...anyone else would've beaten him soundly). Yet we get a good 10 minutes of a 40 minute reunion show devoted entirely to him.

There was no focus on Tasha (despite her making the final 3). There was no focus on Wigglesworth, the most hyped up member of this cast (who underperformed ridiculously...I wish Probst called her out). Wentworth and Ciera got little screen time, despite being two players who kicked the strategic game into overdrive and made this season. Varner, who defined the first half of the game got no screen time at the reunion. Yet we spend 10 minutes on Joe? Ugh.

Joe's their golden boy and I expect he'll be invited back at the earliest opportunity (along with Wentworth, Ciera and a couple others). I agree that his game is weak. He's a physical powerhouse and socially, I'd say he is decent. But you're right, his strategic game is crap.

In the after-interview, Wiggles said her "pick a number" thing was just an act. She did however say that Tash hit the number dead on...3 was the number Wiggles picked in her original season.

All in all, the reunion show was the biggest let down of the season, but at least they didn't fill other valuable minutes with a bunch of pointless interviews with past players or people in the audience. (Danny being the exception because of his transplant; but his was directly linked to a huge moment in the game...so he get's a pass).

For sure. Joe is being set up to get the Boston Rob treatment. He will be asked back over and over until he finds a cast that is stupid enough to just let him win. You'd think Redemption Island being one of the most boring seasons in the show's history would discourage the producers from going down this road again. But somehow I doubt it.

Great season all around, I don't remember another season where there were more surprises about who went home each show.

While Jeremy did play a good enough game to deserve to win I didn't think he deserved a clean sweep. If Spencer hadn't saved his bacon when Kimmi was flipping he would have been gone since he was completely fooled.

Next season looked brutal, if the preview isn't misleading (a big if) then at least two male players are going to be medivaced from the game and it looked like at least one woman was also injured.
