Plot Summary: "Swing Vote" follows the story of Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner), an apathetic, beer-slinging, lovable loser, who is coasting through a life that has passed him by. The one bright spot is his precocious, over-achieving twelve-year-old daughter Molly. She takes care of both of them, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events which culminates in the election coming down to one vote... her dad's.

"Swing Vote" is a comical look at the journey of one father and daughter who discover that everyone has the power to change the world.

I think this looks like a lot of fun, good role for Costner. :D

It's an interesting concept. I laughed a few times during the trailer.

This is the first time a movie has won me over mid trailer. At first I thought the concept was too sitcom, but as the trailer went on, the editing and motion graphics won me over.

Wow...what a good looking movie. Tons of good actors. Except George Lopez....eh...I'll give him a chance.

OMG-- I just came across this hilarious video for Swing Vote.

"Who would you vote for?"

I have to agree the trailers and viral videos for this movie have really won me over. The cast is like a cast that keeps giving! Kelsey Grammer, Dennis Hopper, Stanley Tucci, Paula Patton, the list goes on!

This movie definitely seems good.

THeres been so many comedies thatare like Apatow or Will Ferrell movie where they are pretty much straightforward comedies. Im always on the look out for a movie like this which has a similar genre style as Multiplicity where its real life gone astray rather a group of idiots doing something crazy

Ya, I definitely agree. Swing Vote just looks like an entertaining movie with continuous craziness along the way. I think the Kevin Costner, father/daughter role is really going to pull this movie together.

Costner looks cute, never thought I'd see the day.

I saw the preview myself, looks good. I like a lot of the actors in the film.

love the cast, looks like the kind of movie my mom will love

It's so funny that you said that, because I felt the same way. Seems like Kevin Costner continue to become more handsome as he ages. Of course, I had Costner love back during Field of Dreams, but I also loved in his comeback Rumor Has It.Can;t wait to see him in this apathetic role and not as serious as usual.

I dont know much about politics or the voting process but how possible is it for this to happen.

I mean this guy is part of the popular vote, presidents have won popular but still lost the election because of the electorate quite infamously. So in the end how much does he really matter?

Everytime I go see a movie in theaters this trailer comes on. The premises is really strong, but the movie just looks lame. If I want to watch a Redneck I'll just go to the north side of town.

I saw this trailer in the theater and was pleasantly surprised.
Finally a Kevin Costner movie that looks like I'll actually go see it. I like the concept, I enjoyed the supporting cast, and it had some funny parts that I actually laughed out loud. This one won't be a dvd wait, I'll go on opening day just to see what it's all about.:woot:

I think it's just the general idea of making your voice count and being involved in politics and our countries decision making process. I like that it's a different storyline and that this is an issue worth making a movie about in the first place.

You want realism, read the newspaper.

Just curious, I couldnt care less how realistic it was in the end

Valid question --- cerealkiller182 :)

You want realism, read the newspaper.

terry78 --- Funny, you related realism with the newspaper (media). I found this blog interviewing all the media personalities in this movie. I think it will be really cool to see these real-life personalities all together in the same movie.

So did anyone see this? Out of curiousity, I read the ending on Wikipedia.

You don't even find out who he votes for? That kinda seems like a ripoff when it is the whole premise of the movie

Ya-- I saw the movie and I thought it was really well made actually. Ya, that spoiler is correct, but I think the main point is that he isn't "apathetic" anymore and sending that message across. It definitely had some good laughs in the movie.

This may look good, but more of a rental for me.

They at least could've shown two endings, showing what would've happened. Probably never see this anyway.

Can't believe I saw this movie. Last time my friends drag me to a movie and yeah the ending was stupid but it was for the auidence to use their imagination and decide the outcome.
