Now Anal **** is an awesome band.

Then what the hell do you listin to?
Punk (all forms; classic, 80s, pop, folk, irish, proto, whatever), Ska, Rockabilly, Alternative, Irish folk, Classical, 80s Pop, 60s Pop, 50s Pop, Motown, Big Band, Swing Jazz, Ambient, Hardcore, Funk, Electronica, a little Grunge, and whatever else I seem to like.
I figured since you asked about emo that you must listin to emo.
No, I just thought it was funny thing to ask. It's like asking if someone if they like to wear women's clothes or something.

Says the guy who likes metal.

What, like music critics actually know music? If they seriously thought St. Anger was a great album, then that opens doubt to the rest of their work.

Oh Lord...

I like a little reggae, and ska has never hooked me.

But the oldies station is pure torture to listen to

Hence why I inferred you knew nothing about music.

Because I don't listen to stuff that hasn't hooked me.

It's not a big deal anyway. People listen to whatever they like

Then why do you blame critics for liking St. Anger? I mean, couldn't you just say, they were listening to something they liked?

They like sh-t.

Or they were getting the music critic's version of payola

This thread has gotten to be quite hilarious with each poster trying to prove they are the music expert and thrashing other people's taste in music simply because of difference in preference.

"Metal sucks"
"No, Emo sucks!"
"No, you suck!"

Who gives a f***! Just enjoy what you enjoy and don't let what others say sway you from what you like just to be 'cool' or to have someone say 'Oh, you know SO much about music! You're so freakin' smart and awesome!"

And labels... not everything is black and white. Many things are in the shades of grey and for every genre, there's dozens of sub-genres.

Btw, none of you here are musical experts. Even so-called experts can't agree with each other. And is it so hard to exchange ideas without insulting one another?

Bella said a swear! :wow:

But I had to defend Guitar Hero to some extent! :csad:

Hey, I don't know what you've been reading, but I've been having a rather enjoyable conversation with Addendum and Kritish. If it bothers you that much, maybe you should avoid the thread, and leave the posters who actually are engaging in debate be.

I also like classical music, but I don't have any of it in my collection.

I can't find a collection of the full symphonies of Beethoven. All I can find in stores is parts of them.

And I honestly don't know of a single person who doesn't like classical music

I listen to orchestra music. I have the soundtracks to "Star Wars Episode III", "Pan's Labyrinth," "X-Men: The Last Stand," "Superman Returns," "Batman Begins," and some other ones on my iPod. Great stuff for the most part.

Honestly, as much as I would love to defend your "lets all be peaceful" sentiment; everyone is here to too lazy say something constructive like "the hardcore thrashing of metal and deep growling doesn't nearly appeal to me like the whiny angst riddled lyrics of emo does." Cause really, where is the fun in that?

Not all metal involves growling, Cradle of Filth should be relabled gothic emo.

Yeah I also hav the tracks from each star wars movie, the theme from Ep1 is actually very good

Gregorian chanting anyone? Its quite good for meditating to.
