I just saw this movie a couple of days ago and damn is still holds up, its a great guilty pleasure and a lot of fun to watch. Billy zane rocks in this film and william saddler in the lead role carries the movie quite well. The FX are pretty good and i love the skinny demons, those make-up FX and their design are cool as hell,(plus their rise from the ground) very creepy slimmy ugly creatures with zane as their overtop crazy demon master. Some great gory moments.

Who else remember this film. Who else enjoys watching it.

I never saw this one...I saw Bordello of Blood which at the time I thought was cool. I watched it again recently and it is pretty horrid.

I've never seen bordello but DK is pretty cool, I remember seeing it fro the first time on my 14 or 15th birthday and then a couple of days ago and I was afraid to watch it fearing that I was gonna be disappointed because of the dated FX and so on but I wasn't, I mean its a bad movie its over the top but good in a funny/gory horror popcorn flick kinda way. I remember the scene wher the kid turns into a demon and his mouth opens from the sides the puppetry FX still looks good and the gore in the movie its good, some cool dismemberments and gunshot gore, lots of red blood and green blood. its a good funfest, with practical FX that look very good.

demon knight was a cool movie. bordello was fun in a tacky way. they were
going to make a tales from the crypt movie trilogy, but bob didn't do so well, so they just stopped there. "don't eat your heart out baby...that's...my job."

Demon Knight is always a Halloween favorite for me. Love that film. So many great lines, so many good performances. Bordello of Blood is unforgivablly bad, just shockingly awful.

I remember watching Demon Knight quite a bit when it was first released on VHS (August of 1995 I think), and liked it alot. Havent seen the film in a number of years, but I will agree that Zane was great as The Collector, and Saddler was just awesome as well. Thomas Hayden Church's character was a guy you loved to hate, and the effects were very well done for it's time, and even now to some degree. The film is certainly more satisfying overall, than the followup, Bordello of Blood. Which was fun. But much more camp than Knight I felt. Dennis Miller, and Angie Everhart atleast saved Bordello from being complete crap. Still wish there would have been one more "Tales from the Crypt Presents:" flick to complete the trilogy, but it's understandable why the decision was made not to continue. Oh well.

I was surprised by this film. Saw it in the theatres and didn't get my hopes up(big fan of the HBO series), but ended up loving it. I agree with the rest who have posted, Zane was great! That scene always cracks me up right before he summons the demons when he throws that fit doing an impersonation of a hick. Bordello of Blood was terrible, I wish something better had been made to keep the Tales From the Crypt films going. Oh well, I own it on DVD(Demon Night) and recently picked up season 6 of the series.

Yeah, same here.

That was hilarious! :woot:

both films were great

bordello gets too much crap, its a great fun B movie horror

Maybe if I were to watch it again I might find some enjoyment out of it. I just wanted something more serious and dark again like Demon Night, but not necesarily demons again.

Demon Knight was a great film.
I watch it every time it comes on TV.

Tales from the Crypt rules! One of my favourate episodes is 'This'll Kill Ya'!" And yes, Demon Knight kicks absolute ass! Can't go wrong with Billy Zane!

Billy Zane = performance of the movie.

...and I'll always love him because he was The Phantom. :)

"Alright, I know what you're thinking. You give up for soul, you turn into a demon, you look like s***. Where's the payoff, right?"

:D

I love this movie. The soundtrack is great.

I wouldn't say DK was serious and dark, more so than Bordello, but both are pretty campy and more fun than dark.

I love both of them, I've seen them both countless times.

I love this movie. I especially like the bathroom boob scene at the beginning! :D

I've seen pieces of Bordello, and what i saw was crap.

I would love to see a sequel to DK, with Jada Pinkett Smith passing on the relic to someone else....

i really liked DK,but if zane wasnt in it i dont think it would be anywhere near as enjoyable imho.zane really does make the film tick quite nicely.i remember watching bordello for erika eleniak and her alone lol,but the film was terrible.

It still had some camp in it, it's freakin' Tales From the Crypt. Overall though, it was a fairly dark film. A lot darker than BoB is basically what I had originally meant.

this movie rocked , i only saw it once in the theatre but i thought it was cool and not too campy , bordello was a huge dissapointment though.

i watched it when i was a kid and it scared the **** out of me...

all i remember in the movie is 2 people having sex while tazing their selves and a scene where someone punches a hole though a guys face...

you lot stateside are lucky you can buy the seasons on dvd...they hardly even show it in the UK (never really took off) and all you can buy are crappy VHS' with 3 random episodes on each tape.

i loved that part , the movie made me jump a couple of times

Gotta love TFTC

At first I thought this thread was going to announce a remake...
