A new fantasy movie, directed by the legend ALBERT PYUN (Cyborg, Nemesis) himself, a quasi-sequel to his first movie THE SWORD AND THE SORCERER is coming...

The cast reeks of awesomeness:

Val Kilmer ... Rollo
Christopher Lambert ... Father
Kevin Sorbo ... Aedan
Melissa Ordway ... Tanis
Matthew Willig ... Giant Iberian
Ralf Moeller ... General Hafez

Here some clips to watch: http://www.beyondhollywood.com/videos/category/fantasy/ scroll down

Pyun describes Tales as a stylistic fusing of old fashion adventure films with contemporary horror and action. The fighting style is very Kali, fast, vicious, on close. This instead of the traditional sword action where there are a number of broad sword strokes. Sorbo and Lambert will bring a ton of humor. The vampire/dark sorcery element is very disturbing and horrific...but hopefully in a fun way. Cynthia [Curnan]'s screenplay has done a nice job of blending these elements.

Wow!

If this doesn't win some Academy Awards something is clearly wrong! First TDK and then...

Haha, I found the Thread title to be funny because that's what Val Kilmers movie career is. An Ancient empire.

It's Pyun. It will be terrible beyond human thought.

Yes, this is Albert Pyun and I am trying to make it more terrible than you think it can be. And that's not easy even for me! I'm kidding -- err...you'll be the judge April 23.

In all seriousness, thanks for mentioning the film and give us ancient wrecks one more chance to prove miracles do happen. No, it won't be a gamechanger, maybe not even a cheap rental, but I've worked hard on making it really good cheese. I can't make cheese better than this.

Give it chance.

Sorbo, Lambert, Moeller.....it should be fun to watch.

That's what I was kind of thinking too. Will have to add this to my Netflix que when it comes out.

Funny thing about Moeller, I happened to watch Universal Soldier a couple of nights ago. First time in a long time.

What's funnier is...I was watching Space:Above and Beyond today....and was wondering what happened to Morgan Weisser....and he's in this movie.

Hahaha!

It's a sign! This film must be watched now! Even though it will probably be incredibly cheesy but as you said, should be fun.

When I want serious drama....I watch PBS....when I want cheese sprinkled with fights and babes....I watch Albert Pyun.

Val Kilmer in a movie with Kevin Sorbo. What a shame.

What the hell happened to Kilmer? Did he change his agent or something?

Dohohoho.

Felon was a really good movie, tho. I think Kilmer did one of his best performances in it, as did Dorff.

Val hit one of those Baldwin Brother lines in life, apparently. Such a shame, the guy was gold in the late 80's/ early 90's...

THE PYUN?

What happened to your movie with Seagal?!

Yes its "the" Pyun. The infamous one.

I think its a little unfair to be so critical of these actors. The film business is very demanding. It is almost all consuming and even then its very difficult to remain at the very top of the heap. Sometimes people gain other interests that diminishes their interest in fighting the fight to maintain a level in their careers. And you just get tired of all the ****. Of the effort and the price. And you simply want to enjoy other aspects of life.

I've worked with a few actors that were hot or even the number one box office star early in their careers. Van Damme, Kris Kristofferson, Burt Reynolds, Rutger Hauer, Dice Clay, Rob Lowe, Mario Van Peebles, George Kennedy, Steven Seagal, Tom Sizemore, Ice-T all stardom but times change. And I think many prefer the person they are now to whom they were back then. I'm sure they miss some of the benefits of burning brightly, but I'm not sure they miss it that much. For most, it wasn't their happiest period.

I think they eventually find other interests that are more rewarding and really focus more on family or enjoying life instead of the grind of maintaining star status.

In terms of my movie with Seagal, its still in discussion.

Any chance of seeing a updated Blu-ray cut of some of your older action flick, like Captain America?

I've been talking to MGM with regards to a Cyborg re-release on Blu-ray with the commentary I'm doing for it in two weeks. But beyond that i'm not sure. I have my director's cut of Captain America on 35mm but not sure where the release rights stand. I might post my CA cut for free online or include it as part of my release of Road to Hell in June.

I'm releasing Bulletface on Jan 26 in a package that might include a standard def and blu-ray version along with a totally recut and re-mastered version of Left For Dead which came out in March 2008.

Nice to hear, I've seen most of your movies and always enjoyed them, welcome to the hype.

I own Cyborg and Nemesis on DVD and I like them a lot.

Radioactive Dreams, Blast and Heatseeker are great fun, too.

(Another question that has always bothered me: Why was the Red Skull Italian in the Captain America movie?)

Thanks TrueTotheCore for your very kind support!

I really hope (pray?) you like Bulletface (Jan 26), Tales of an Ancient Empire (April 23) and Road to Hell (June), which are my next three releases. Think after all these years and films I might be getting the hang of it (making films).

I'm doing the Cyborg commentary in conjunction with a site called Quietearth.us
