Katana was one of the characters I wanted in the show and I got my wish. She was my top highlight for the third season.

She was developed more in the flashbacks than the present. Her fight with Maseo was beautiful and tragic.

I want her to team up with Dinah Laurel and Huntress to be the Birds of Prey.

I wish they just did her comic book storyline. Great actress and costume. Her storyline - both present and flashback - was weak this season.

I hope she has a bigger role next season. Rila Fukishima is a good actress and Tatsu's costume was one of the best Arrow has done.

Because it was genuinely well handled instead of "Oh hi Sara, you're back out of nowhere in the last 5 minutes of the episode. Oh wait now you're dead."

Katana at least emoted at the death of her one-time husband. I think part of the problem is that when Oliver Queen is scripted to emote, that Stephen Amell simply lacks the acting chops to do so. It is always "I do not have time to mourn right now!" like when Sara died, or scream and then pass out like when Moira was murdered.

She did a wonderful job as Tatsu/Katana (although there were some times I couldn't understand what she was saying). I don't think Devon Aoki would have been as good.

His mom was about to be murdered by a hallucinating madman who could not be reasoned with. I think the screaming was effective.

I don't quite understand why they didn't save her suiting up and fighting Maseo for the finale though. The time spent on Damien Darhk and Quentin Lance could have been used for these two.

Agreed. Moira's death and Oliver's reaction was some of the best acting in the entirety of this show. The only scene that came close was Oliver's reaction to Tommy's death. Amell handled both really well.

I want to know what "genius" looked at a bunch of comics featuring Katana and went to themselves "you know what's really interesting about this character, her husband. We should totally develop like 90% of the screentime to him and his pain."

Seriously, Katana was cool and they got the perfect actress to play her. But man was she really underused in S3, which was very disappointing.

I love that DC says the shows and movies are separate but as soon as a character from the TV show goes to a movie say goodbye to them on television utterly ridiculous if there both separate that why can't Katana and Deadshot still be on tv?

Same. I also thought her reaction to Oliver torturing Shreve was really bad, though that was probably more due to the writing there.
