I remember doing these threads sometime ago but since then a lot has happened so I'm going to do new ones. Please only answer the questions given, no need to debate or start any arguments this is purely a question and answer thread (feel free to elaborate on your answers).

First up Superman...

1. Who is your favourite Superman?

Tyler, he almost (98%) embodied that perfect version that of the character I have in my mind.

2. Who is your favourite Clark Kent?

Tyler Hoechlin or Dean Cain, I can't quite choose, while Cain's Superman was uncomfortable he was a perfect Clark Kent. Tyler Hochlin perfectly embodied both roles. I can't decide right now.

3. What is your favourite Superman movie?

Superman the Movie, still the greatest superhero movie of all-time.

4. What is your favourite Superman TV show?

Smallville for me, it's not perfect by any means but I went on a decade long ride with this show. I just love it, when it was at its best it was just see television.

5. Who is your favourite live action Lois Lane?

Erica Durance, she only beats Amy Adams by a slither though.

6. Who is your favourite live action Lex Luthor?

Michael Rosenbaum, he perfectly embodied the Lex Luthor I always wanted to see on screen. Watching him develop over 7 seasons of Smallville was brilliant. I didn't want him to turn evil but it was inevitable.

7. What is your favourite Superman comic story?

This changes between a few stories but when it comes down to it nothing is better than Kingdom Come for me. It's epic, it's an event and for me the greatest graphic novel of all time.

8. Who is your favourite Superman villain?

In the grand scheme of things Supermans arch enemy is Lex Luthor but I've always loved Brainiac the most. From the classic Coluan version to the robotic version to the reinvention in STAS and beyond this character has just always got me excited.

9. What is your favourite Superman animated series or movie?

Superman the Animated Series, it's perfect. It's exactly what I consider my Superman, if I could get a live action TV series based off it I'd be in heaven.

10. Briefly pitch your ideal Superman movie (be it a sequel to an existing film or a brand new film)?

A Superman film that starts with him been rocketed to Earth from Krupton but then moves day one at the daily planet (not redoing the origin as a whole), the villains are billionaire Lex Luthor, the Parasite and Metallo. It would be quite reminiscent of the second half of books in the Superman Secret Origin graphic novel but it would be more like Superman the Animated Series. Clark would be like Dean Cain/Tyler Hoechlin's and Superman would be just like Tyler Hoechlin's. Lois would not know the secret, Jimmy would work with Clark & Lois at the Daily Planet, etc.

Having not seen Supergirl episodes of Supergirl with Superman in them yet, can't say if TH is good/better in either SM or CK personna, but heard good things. Gonna have to say Reeve, for the variation in character he shows BUT credit goes to Cavill as well.

3. What is your favourite Superman movie?

Superman (1978), favourite film of all time and best CBM, where it all began.

Smallville

5. Who is your favourite live action Lois Lane?

Amy Adams, and it's not even close.

Normally I would say Luthor, but he's been so great as a comically arrogant antihero that I would hate to lose that. So I'm going to say Darkseid, Jimmy Olsen's most noteworthy contribution to DC lore.

Not going to cover everything. I will say that I like when the Clark Kent persona is his real identity, like in Lois & Clark. Also, either there should be a superpowered rival, or Kryptonite should only take away his powers (like in BvS) instead of rendering him helpless.

1. Who is your favourite Superman?

I'm going to give it to Tyler Hoechlin. Maybe cuz it's still fresh, but that look and feel was pretty doggone spot on.

2. Who is your favourite Clark Kent?

Dean Cain. I don't know why, but that was the first time I though that Clark Kent was cool.

3. What is your favourite Superman movie?

Superman: Last Son of Krypton. One day I looked at a movie and realized it was just the first three episodes of Superman: TAS and it was just so perfect. I wished the show could have kept up that feel.

4. What is your favourite Superman TV show?

Supergirl. To be honest, it absolutely IS a Superman show. She's got her own Jimmy, her own Perry, her own Loises, her own Lex and she's dealing with a bunch of superman villains as though they were characters who never fought Superman first. She's even a reporter now, it's just the distaff Superman hour, and it is a genuine feel good show. Plus, every so often it gets heavy and I love it.

5. Who is your favourite live action Lois Lane?

Erica Durance. Just charming and pushy. That's all I want, y'know?

6. Who is your favourite live action Lex Luthor?

Gotta give it to Rosenbaum as well. Smallville, for all it's refusal to do a Superman show, sure did a heckuva Superman show.

7. What is your favourite Superman comic story?

I know this is just blasphemy, but something about Azarello's For Tomorrow really just got me. It felt global and still day to day in a way that I hadn't seen Superman stories before.

8. Who is your favourite Superman villain?

Parasite. He's really a truly great monster concept and he's got so much potential that's rarely touched on. He's a person who can take on Superman without being a bruiser or a Kryptonite man, and that's kinda awesome.

9. What is your favourite Superman animated series or movie?

Something magical happens in the last twenty minutes of Superman vs The Elite, and I've never been that transfixed by a Superman animation bit, aside from the obvious beatdown bonanza in Justice League.

10. Briefly pitch your ideal Superman movie (be it a sequel to an existing film or a brand new film)?

The multiverse is falling apart, and it's up to Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to fix it, and along the way in trying to pull the universes together, he meets the most powerful heroes of other Earths, an angry cynical Superman (Henry Cavill), a deeply depressed Superman (Brandon Routh), a Superman (Dean Cain) who lived happily ever after, an older future Superman (George Newbern) with waning powers, and unbeknownst to them, an evil Clark "Ultraman" Luthor (Tom Welling) masquerading as a Superman. They alone are able to face off against the mischievous omnipotent 5-th dimensional being Myxlsptlk (Peter Dinklage) and save not just the world, not just the universe, but the entire Multiverse.

1. Who is your favourite Superman?

Dean Cain - I know people criticize his Superman a lot, and I agree about some aspects... but the character he portrayed, in terms of principals, motivations & subtle character traits, was definitely the best live action version of Superman to me.

They explored so many of the complicated aspects of what being Superman would entail - the inner turmoil, the impossible decisions, being in the public eye, getting over confident etc.

2. Who is your favourite Clark Kent?

Dean Cain - his portrayal of Clark was perfect to me. A guy who is just so respectful of people, so grateful for life, so good and kind and dedicated to helping people overcome pain/injustice. He was passionate, real, funny, with a full character including defects, and, as Lois once said, 'Hat hair'.

Cain played him with this boyish charm and farm boy innocence - but with this stoic, serious side that came out when necessary and made him someone to respect. And someone you could totally understand a woman like Lois Lane falling for. Eventually.

3. What is your favourite Superman live action movie?

Batman vs Superman

... god what an impossible question. I mean, I dislike them ALL for various reasons.

With the original series, I find the characters of Superman, Clark Kent & Lois Lane all really unlikeable... I can see the charm of the overall product in a way, sort of like I do the Sound of Music or something, but it's just not to my tastes in terms of interpretations of Superman.

Superman Returns was basically the same universe but made the characters even MORE unlikeable... so yeah...

And then Man of Steel came along and broke my heart in various different ways...

As much as I find it strange to admit it... Batman vs Superman is the one I enjoyed the most and had the least problems with...

4. What is your favourite Superman TV show?

Lois and Clark - if it wasn't already obvious from the first two choices t:

I was 6 when the show came out. It's the reason I love Superman. It's the reason I drew a red s on my t-shirts in crayon and wore a towel as a cape.

5. Who is your favourite live action Lois Lane?

Teri Hatcher

I think Lois' portrayal in this show has played a huge part in how I behave as a women... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing

Again, it is about the balance for me. She was a ball busting, tenacious, fearless, single minded, kind of rude and selfish women at times - but she also had this softer side. She'd cry at romance movies. She'd get freaked out by weird dreams. And she was motivated a lot of the time by the same passion for helping people in pain as her partner.

6. Who is your favourite live action Lex Luthor?

John Shea

I do enjoy the dynamics between Clark/Lex in Smallville, so Rosenbaum would be a close second. But Lex Luthor is my favourite villain of all time - and as a villain, Michael Rosenbaum's Lex never cut it for me.

John Shea on the other hand played a charming, well liked entrepreneur that had the cities full trust, but underneath was a completely deranged sociopath.

I loved how delighted he would get at times. Not in an overly campy way, but just enough to show how much he enjoyed hurting people.

And he was just so ultra confident/arrogant. You actually believed he thought he was better than everyone in every room.

7. What is your favourite Superman comic story?

Action Comics #775 - What's so funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way?

What an amazing way of explaining the importance of the 'no kill' concept, and why it should be kept around.

Plus, holds one of the best quotes of all time

8. Who is your favourite Superman villain?

Lex Luthor

He's actually my favourite villain of all time in general.

I think he's the perfect personification of corrupt figures in power who are all about greed, obsession, competition, lack of consequences, using technicalities and loop holes, thinking they are above the law, better than 'normal' people, buying or bullying silence etc.

I love the fact that a Superhero with all those great physical powers, would find getting to and punishing someone at that level of corruption the greatest challenge of all.

I love watching just how frustrating it is for Lex to be confronted by a man who has had power just handed to him, after he has had to get his hands so dirty to get his.

And how frustrating it is for Superman to come up against someone he can't fight with brute force. That he is, for the most part, powerless to stop him.

9. What is your favourite Superman animated series or movie?

The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest

I love the series in general, and I think this is a really good way of introducing someone to it. I think the storyline is great, with Lex & Joker teaming up, and I find it extremely re watchable.

10. Briefly pitch your ideal Superman movie (be it a sequel to an existing film or a brand new film)?

If I could go back in time and erase Man of Steel, i'd replace it with a more Birthrightesque storyline and have it be the movie I thought it was going to be in the early stages. Similar style of cinematography would be fine (I think it's really beautiful in parts), but his stepping out as Superman would be a decision based on passion for life and a sense of purpose, and there would need to be a lighter tone and pace.

And, you know... no great big neck snapping scene at the end
