Ok, pretty much everyone is likely to put the 2 Cameron films in a league of their own but after them consensus seems to be lacking of whether Mostow, McG or Taylor fared the best. So sound off and feel free to rank the entire franchise if you want.

We did this for the JP franchise so why not here?

For me easily T3 is the best of the non-Cameron films and Terminator Salvation is the absolute worst.

I haven't watched it in years, so maybe I need to visit it but I'd say Salvation. I've seen T3 plenty of times, and I don't even need to see Genisys again so it's basically process of elimination.

I think Salvation because they tried doing something different.

Trick question, the answer is The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I really liked Terminator Salvation, seeing the war after Judgment Day from John Connor's perspective appealed to me and I felt the tone and visual palette were spot on and far superior to T3 and TG, plus I loved the design concepts behind the Harvester and the Moto-Terminator's and loved the action sequences. I had some issues with the 3rd act but overall enjoyed the film.

I appreciated the attempt at a new direction in Salvation but it feels like a pointless filler film. Genisys feels the cheapest and shlockiest out of all the films even if it is somewhat entertaining. T3 was a poor man's T2 but it was the only one that felt even remotely like the first two films in terms of quality. It's solid but nothing new or spectacular. I have to go with that one.

Sarah Connor Chronicles. :o

I haven't seen TG yet will want for Redbox but I am surprised it is getting any votes with how bad I have been hearing it is lol. I know none of these movies are really consider good but still I though TG was consider like way worse.

Sarah Connor Chronicles is easily the best non-Cameron Terminator. For the movies i'll say T3 for the action scenes and the ending. Salvation for me felt like had the most wasted potential and was probably the dullest, and Genysis is complete trash.

TS
Tried to be more than a blatant retread.

Sarah Connor Chronicles bored the heck out of me. Only the premiere episode was worth-seeing.

For me, Rise of the Machines is the 3rd best Terminator film.

I liked to pretend that It follows is the sequel to The Guest. The unstoppable enemy this time is a shape shifter.

Salvation took itself seriously, and had memorable action scenes, with subtle nods to the franchise. It tried something different and didn't have to include Arnold. I liked the aesthetic, because it would have built to the future war in its planned sequels.

T3 was a parody of T2, the only thing good about that film is the end I suppose? Too many jokes.

Genisys is a structural mess and over-homages the previous films way too much. Almost every scene is an homage, and after about a half hour I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. Again too many jokes.

I just don't accept the notion that the whole apocalyptic landscape happened AFTER Judgment Day. Really, the permanently darkened sky and mountains of bones/skulls lying everywhere DIDN'T happen with the sudden global nuclear holocaust. I happened after, somehow even though most of the human population is already dead. Nope, that's sounds very stupid to me. As does the idea that things got WORSE after John Connor took over (when the OPPOSITE is implied in the first two films). Really T3/TS/and TG all take giant dumps all over his character.

Not even merely implied. Reese outright says in the first film that things got better when John took over.

T3 should have been a lot darker, the campiness killed it for me. So far I like Salvation the most even if it doesn't really have the feel of a Terminator movie.

agreed.

Salvation feels better to me compared to T3.

I liked T3, too but indeed, it had too much moments where it just was being 'arnold in a terminator suit'. It looked too scripted, to written, it missed a certain amount of 'life' or 'soul' in it.

Salvation indeed was a step different. It had more of a war-feel to it, grimmer, more themed. I liked it had a totally different story, something untold yet.

I did miss Schwarzenegger, but he was present so it wasn't a bad thing but i would have enjoyed a more epic battle that lasted longer while terminator would look like arnold and not the skeleton.

and i didn't like the end too much regarding that heart transplant trying to get some emotion into it.

The problem with Salvation is the awful dialogue and acting. McG can't direct actors for ****.

It's not even coherently edited as a film. Bale goes from being thrown around like a basketball (I'll give 3 and Genisys this, the Terminators actually terminate in those) to checking his corners with next to no transition.
