Is Terminator 2 the best action movie ever?

I would say no, the orginal Die Hard would take the #1 spot in my opinion. Although it's definitley in the top five.

Hard for me to say, to be honest. I like it, but I've never liked T2 THAT much. I much prefered the first one.

Every CB film:- Guy has some kind of powers, whether physical, mental, or practical... meets bad guy, has fight, wins.

Alien films:- Ripley pulls some faces with her big chin, knows trouble's going down, sees alien, runs, fights a lil, beats alien, goes to sleep.

Die Hards:- Nutter with bad hairline encounters terrorists, shoots, swears, gets knocked about and bloodied, laughs, swears, shoots terrorists, wins, roll credits.

Bay films:- sh** blows up x 1000, roll credits.

Lord of the Rings films:- Kevin Smith said it best... walking x 3.

Star Wars films:- Disturbance felt, mind trick, space travel, get stranded, fights guy with red (sometimes pink) lightsaber, someone loses limb, roll credits.


All the same but with different themes.

I can't definitively say that Terminator: Judgement Day is the best action movie ever but I can say it's one of the top five. However, based on the previews for Terminator: Salvation, I think we may be about to witness the best action movie of all-time.

Gotta go with Raiders of the Lost Ark. I think it's pretty safe to say that it ties Die Hard, and the fact that it did it first breaks the tie. I'd also have to put Lethal Weapon up there. T2 is good, but I wouldn't consider it an action movie. Other than the end of the movie, the only real action anything is the sequence in the LA canals, and that's not very long.

I think the Rock is the best action movie made.
And it's funny because other than that I think Michael Bay sucks balls.

I always took the indy movies as more adventure than action.

its all good to me man, T2 is my favorite movie of all time. i just feel its eerily similar to the first... even the warehouse from the T1 climax is similar to the steel mill in T2 in layout/framing

I'll watch Terminator 2 before I watch any of the movies listed in the thread.

But to say there is one, or argue that one film is the definite "best action movie of all time" is really pointless.
