Couldn't find a thread on this game, so here we go!

Very pumped for this one and was lucky enough to work on it (I wrote the concept and script for the below trailer ^_^)

Game Informer have the latest game info in their June Edition too, and it's already looking pretty damn cool for any Dead Space fans out there.

Other recent game news includes:

- Josh Duhamel stars as the protagonist, a cargo ship pilot who crash lands on Callisto and is taken prisoner.
- Coming in 2nd half of 2022
- Jacob (Main character) can use crowd control 'GRP' abilities to push and pull things towards you
• Includes both ranged combat and melee
• Enemies are called Biophages

Definitely keeping an eye on this one. Wanna see some gameplay though. Supposedly it comes out this year, yet no gameplay?

Andrew Reiner from Game Informer tweeted that we're gonna see it pretty soon. My guess would be next week or so, during all the (Not) E3 Showcases.

It's so similar to Dead Space I'm surprised there's no lawsuit lol. But it does look good.

The studio head was boasting about the devs working 12-15 hours a day, 6-7 days a week... He deleted his tweet but here it is archived via Wayback Machine.

And then he apologized. :whatever:

Crunch really is a cultural problem, as much as an economic one. Yeah, giant corporations forcing their employees to crunch for added profit, it happens and is an issue. However, I'd say the bigger issue is the general mindset in the tech industry that 'hustle' and a complete lack of work-life balance is a *good* thing. Its why you get crunch in smaller, less omnipresently powerful companies, and probably contributes to the tolerance and apologism for crunch even in those bigger ones.

Looks good. No time to play it anytime soon but look forward to it when I get to it.

75/76ish metacritic so far.

Strikes me as fine enough, dont know why people already speak about this as a failure.
But then, i dont give a damn about Critics.

Like i read one German Review here and it already made my blood boil.
The dude complained that this game has too many of those narrow paths used to hide loading screens.
He even complained that GOW allegedly has so many and it annoyed him there too.

I checked then his GOW review, and he never once mentioned it.
He gave this game negative points for it, but not GOW despite claiming how annoyed he was by it, annoyed enough to criticise this game for it.

Im so done with critics in general because of stuff like that and because way too many people trust empty numbers, let their fun be determined by those.

Gonna try and pick this up today or tomorrow along with Modern Warfare 2. Look a fantastic.

Oof, this is getting destroyed on Steam due to horrible stutters. Poor performance on the XSX as well with sub-30 FPS in Quality mode.

Why is new game plus always added later in an update these days?
Hmm, don’t know. If otherwise ready at launch, maybe they want to add it later so people who finish quickly have a good reason to play again.

I would guess its because NG+ is not something a customer needs in their first playthrough, which makes it an easy choice for "Leave it to later, we have enough on our plate". Before and during release, the developers likely have a lot on their plate, after all.

So I'm an hour into this and it's pretty good. But the dodge mechanic is proving troublesome for me. I swear I'm using it right but it doesn't feel like it's working.

Seconded.

I just beat the game and really I think those who are either getting disappointed or just flat out saying it sucks are being kinda unfair. It's great, it's just people are clearly not used to this team working with a smaller budget. With Dead Space, the reason the game felt like it had more was because Glen and company had EA's resources to work with. They don't have that here and are making due with what little Krafton is giving them. And honestly, I feel like the story and gameplay are actually pretty engaging. The focus on balancing mele combat and guns back and forth feels tactical compared to Dead Spaces' "switch to a different gun" style of gameplay. It takes a bit but once you get the dodge down it actually feels kinda tense. I'd honestly like to see this get a sequel after the story DLC. It's clearly they have one in mind.

Gotta love how the head of this game was praising crunch culture, only for it to release a mess of a game.

Oh is it a low budget game? I’d assumed from the trailers and hype that it was a big release, but didn’t look into who was behind it.

I'd say it's middle-ground, not indie but not a massive AAA release. This was distributed by Krafton, the PUGB guys. Hell, this was originally planned to be a PUBG spin-off, but that was changed early on. I think the continuing patches and DLC will win people over in the long-run as the devs are being nothing but upfront with everything. I just feel those whining are over-blowing things.

Of course I pre-order this thinking surely it will be a good game. And naturally I do so on the Series X instead of the PS5. It hasn't even arrived yet because Amazon seems to no longer be doing day of deliveries on certain games.

At least when it does arrive they should have it patched so I won't have to deal with the day one bull****. Go crunch culture! :whatever:

I've been playing for several hours and I'll be honest, it's just...ok. Certainly not terrible of course, but it hasn't totally wowed me. The combat is fine, but I'm still not crazy about dodging. I think it would have been better to allocate that feature to a button or use some counter system.

My two biggest complaints are the lack of a "map" or guidance system. It doesn't have to be a map. A simple icon pointing you in a direction would suffice.

My second complaint would be the lack of weapons. Just the one baton and different gun "attachments" gets old quick.
